How do I upload data to a Topcon GTS701?

1) Points

Create point numbers for all points to be uploaded This is shown in chapter 11.1.5 of the Getting Started For Surveying Manual

Create points upload file

Turn on only data with point numbers

Select option Survey=>Upload=>Create point

upload file

Select instrument Topcon GTS-700

Select the view icon then select the relevant

view for the data

Select [Get Point Range] to select the points

Type in the upload file name

Select Write File

Select the Instrument type

Select option Survey=>Setup

Select instrument Topcon GTS-700 Feature

String

Select Set then Finish

Upload the file

Prepare the Topcon instrument

a) Create new job

Select [Setup] [Job] [New]

Type in the job name and details

b) Upload the file

Select [Xfer] [Receive] [Points] [Com]

Don’t select anything yet!!

Select option Survey=>Upload=>Upload

Select the appropriate communication

parameters to match the Topcon instrument

Select the upload file

On the Topcon select [OK] to receive the

upload file

After a few seconds select Upload in 12d

2) Road

Create road to be uploaded This is shown in the Getting Started For Design Manual

Create road upload file

Turn on only the centreline and sections

models

Select option Survey=>Upload=>Create point

upload file

Select instrument Topcon GTS-700

Select the alignment string

Select the model for the cross sections

Type in name for the horizontal geometry file

Type in name for the vertical geometry file

Type in name for the cross section file

Select Write File

Three files are created and these are

uploaded separately

Select the Instrument type

Select option Survey=>Setup

Select instrument Topcon GTS-700 Feature

String

Select Set then Finish

Upload the file

Prepare the Topcon instrument

c) Create new job

Select [Setup] [Job] [New]

Type in the job name and details

d) Upload the horizontal geometry file

Select [Xfer] [Receive] [Hz Al] [Com]

Don’t select anything yet!!

Select option Survey=>Upload=>Upload

Select the appropriate communication

parameters to match the Topcon instrument

Select the upload file folder icon

The default file extension is .GTS7. To locate

the file select Browse

Change the Search file type to All files (*.*)

Select the file with extension .hg

On the Topcon select [OK] to receive the

upload file

After a few seconds select Upload in 12d

These procedures should be repeated for the

Vertical geometry file, and cross section file
