GOD LOVES TO HEAL

His general purpose is to heal our spirits, bodies and emotion

God heals without us

God normally wants our partnership to heal others

There are some things in us that can block healing

GOD HEALS SOVEREIGNLY

He heals without any prayer: Sovereign Healing

In His Presence: during testimonies or worship (man with eyeglasses)

Abundant joy can heal

We have access to more healing when we accept Jesus as Savior and Lord

"He himself bore our sins" in his body on the cross…by his wounds you have been healed.” ( 1 Peter 2:14)

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your disease.” (Ps. 103:2-3)

HOW DOES GOD HEAL?

He avoids formulas and loves variety of healing ministries

Our best ministry of any kind flows from a joyful, intimate live-streaming relationship with God

He can heal people with or without their faith. He prefers faith.

He can heal non-Christians.

He can heal the dead from death.

FAITH: A FRUIT AND A GIFT

The fruit of faith that grows as we mature & grow close to God

Every Christian has faith to heal the sick sometimes. God lives in us!

Any Christian can get a large boost of faith to do any miracle of healing when God wants to heal someone.

The gift of healing releases this faith to heal consistently.

Practice praying for healing if you want to become more effective

You can ask for any gift. God encourages that. (1Cor. 14.1)

OBSTACLES TO HEALING

Lack of Faith: Jesus in Nazareth, Apostles & Epileptic boy

God has a greater purpose at that time: Lazarus

The person sees value in being sick

Unrepentant or unconfessed serious sin

Unforgiveness will normally block healing in a believer

OBSTACLES TO HEALING

Faulty Prayer Selection: deliverance vs physical healing vs. emotional healing

Refusal to use medical help when necessary: God uses doctors

Sinful neglect & abuse of the body

Some are instant, some delayed (lepers walking), some a process ( blind man payed for twice by Jesus)

Need for someone more gifted in healing

We believe lies about our ability to heal the sick or receive healing from God

We refuse to pray for others out of fear

People are not getting healed because we choose not to pray

GOD HEALS BY HIS WORD

“He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” ( Ps. 107:20)

My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.

Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh. ( Prov. 4:20-17)

Scripture mediation leads to obedience & faith and that leads to healing! ( Forgive everyone!!!)

WHEN GOD SAYS NO

Paul pleaded with God for relief three times ( 2 For. 12:8-9)

Jesus asked His Father for relief three times ( Luke 22:42)

Our Mission is NOT

If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

OUR FAITH IS IN GODNOT OUR FAITH

When our emphasis on faith gets out of balance, it can take the focus off of God and put it on our faith.

Faith doesn’t move mountains; God does.

Prayer doesn’t change things; God does.

A close, “streaming” two-way relationship with God is the most fruitful Christian life and the real gateway to miracles.

THIS IS HOW TO PRAY FOR HEALING

Five Steps:

1. Interview: Where does it hurt? Why does it hurt? Reasons? Listen to them and to God

2. Prayer selection: ( Command, petition, forgive, deliverance)

3. Pray: Let Spirit guide, watch person, minimize emotions

4. Check on progress: Any changes? Adjust prayers.

5. Post-prayer suggestions: scriptures, books, counsel, follow-up
