Because of the negative impact sugar has on teeth, it’s best for it to have as little con- tact with our teeth as possible. A surprising source of sugar can be the beverages we consume. See if you can figure out how many teaspoons of sugar are in the beverages listed by matching the beverage with the correct number. Then use the tips listed to reduce exposure to sugar and help lower your chances of getting a cavity. To fight tooth decay: Consume sugary drinks in moderation. There are do’s and don’ts when it comes to taking care of your teeth. Brushing and flossing are definitely do’s, while overdoing consumption of sugary foods and beverag-es falls into the “don’t” category.
