How to Add List Numbering
1. Select paragraphs2. Click on Numbering button3. Press enter to continue automatic numbering on the next line4. Press enter two times to stop automatic numbering
Word defines a “paragraph” as any amount of text between Paragraph marks - which are inserted when
you tap “ENTER” on the keyboard.
I type this and then press enter.¶Then I type this line and press enter. ¶Then I type this line and it wraps to the next line, and then press enter. ¶I have just created 3 paragraphs
above.

Select all the paragraphs you want to number:
A. Click the down-pointing arrow next to the Numbering button in the paragraph group.
B. Then select a number format: 1, 2, 3 or A. B. C etc from the gallery that displays.
1. Put insertion point in the paragraph that you do not want to be numbered2. Unclick the Numbering button
To remove a number from a list:
Use numbers for item in sequential order:
1. First, you do this.2. Then you do this.3. Next, you do this.4. And, last you do this.
Use bullets for lists without a specific order:
