How To Connect Your Event To PayPal

This document describes, in click by click detail, how to connect your event's registration page to yourPayPal merchant account. You PayPal merchant account MUST BE a business account; not a personalnor a premier account. Your step by step instructions are in red text below.

• Login to your rsvpBOOK.com account and go to the Admin Dashboard / Tools Tab and click the PayPal Wizard Setup button.

• On the rsvpBOOK screen, click the Public.cert link (blue arrow) and Save the file to your desktop – you will be asked to upload it to PayPal later – do not open it

• Login to your PayPal Account• Arrange your screen so that your PayPal and rsvpBOOK screens are side-by-side - you will be

copying text from the PayPal screens and pasting into the rsvpBOOK screen:

• On the PayPal screen, click the Profile link, then Profile and settings (red arrow)

• On the PayPal screen, click the My selling tools button (red arrow)

• On the PayPal screen, scroll to the bottom and click the Encrypted payment settings link (red arrow)

• Click the Website Payment Preferences link

• Select Auto Return On• Enter http://rsvpbook.com in the Return URL field• Select Payment Data Transfer On

• Select Block Non-encrypted Website Payment On – See yellow box for note• Select PayPal Account Optional On• Select Contact Telephone Off• Select Express Checkout Settings No• Click the Save button

If you have another website that usesthis PayPal account, choose OFF.

• Look for the Successfully Saved message (green arrow)• Scroll to the bottom and click the Encrypted payment settings link (red arrow, second time)

• Click the Website Payment Preferences link (second time)

• Scroll down to the Payment Data Transfer section• Copy the Identity Token line (red arrow) – be sure to select all of the characters before you

copy

• Paste it into the Identity Token field on rsvpBOOK's screen (red arrow)

• Click the Back button on your browser• Click the Add button (red arrow)

• Click the Browse button (downward red arrow)• Find and select the Public.cert file that you downloaded from the PayPal Wizard setup screen

on page 1 of this document• Click the Add button (upward red arrow)

Haven't downloaded the Public.cert file yet?

Click the Public.cert link (blue arrow to the right) andstore it on your computer'sdesktop. PayPal is askingyou to upload this file in thescreen above.

• You should see the Successfully added a certificate message• Copy the Cert ID (red oval below)• Paste it into the Cert ID field on rsvpBOOK.com (see inset, blue arrow)

• On the rsvpBOOK screen, click the Save button (downward green arrow)• On the rsvpBOOK screen, the Make Test Purchase screen will become visible• Now log out of PayPal...

• On the PayPal page, click the Log Out link at the top of your PayPal page. If you miss this step, PayPal will complain during your test purchase that you can't use a credit cardto pay yourself. Since you are logged in, they require you to pay with your PayPal account, which you do not want to do. You want to pay with a credit card, so logout of PayPal now

• Close the PayPal window – you are finished with PayPal setup

On your rsvpBOOK screen,verify that youhave entered your PayPal Account EmailAddress, the Identity Token and the CertID into the 3 fields provided (3 blackarrows)

Lastly, click the Make Test Purchase button (blue arrow). You will see thePayPal payment page open. Complete yourpurchase for $1 with your credit card. Ifeverything is configured properly, your testpurchase will go through and your PayPalstatus will change to Confirmed on theTools tab. Your event will be ready forregistrants only when your PayPal accountis Confirmed.

Yes, you will need to use a credit card andspend $1.00 in order to confirm your setup.Since you own the account, you can refundyour $1.00 purchase to yourself elsewherein your PayPal account.
