How To:Create a new TDT account
Before you get started:
Important Tips: You must have created and verified your login before you can create a TDT account. If you need
help, please read our How To: Creating a Login.
You will need your Property Control Number in order to create a new TDT account. If you need help, please read our How To: Before Getting Started – Property Owners.
Step 1: Log in to the TDT online portal
• Visit www.pbctax.com.• Click “Tourist Development Tax”
within the Search or Pay Here box.
Step 2: Enter your login credentials
• Enter your Username and Password.• Click “Login.”
Step 3: Create your TDT account
• Click “Apply for a New Tourist Development Account.”
Step 4: Set up your Business Account• Enter Business Name or Owner Name.
• Select your Organization Type.• Property Owner (default)• Corporation• General Partnership• Limited Liability Company• Limited Partnership• Sole Proprietorship• Unspecified
• Select your preferred ID Type.• Driver License Number• Employer Identification Number• Federal Identification Number• Social Security Number• State Identification Number
• Enter your ID Number (no dashes).
Important Tip: We recommend you use the same name as it appears on your property tax bill. If you manage several properties, you can create a nickname to group them in
the Business Account. For example, “Jane’s Jupiter Beach Rentals.” All three parts must be completed before the TDT number is assigned.
Step 4: Set up your Business Account, cont’d.• Enter your Business Account Property ID information.
• Businesses/Property Owners within Palm Beach County – enter the PCN of your business location or residence.
• Businesses/Property Owners outside Palm Beach County – enter the PCN of one of your short term rental properties.
• Click “Look Up.” • The system automatically populates all remaining fields
based on the mailing address in our system. • You can update your mailing address through the portal,
however, each year, this will change with the new tax roll.
• To update your address in the official records, please notify the Property Appraiser at www.pbcgov.org/papa/
Important Tip: Whatever you enter in this field will be designated as your
primary location for your TDT account and cannot be changed.
Important Tip: No mailing address is required. All correspondence is
conducted via email. It is critically important that you update your email address
in your profile if it changes.
Step 4: Set up your Business Account, cont’d.• The owner section will default to the name
you entered at the top of the form• If your property is owned by more than
one party, you can also add Owners and define their percentage of ownership.
• Click “Add Owner”
• Double click the blank space beneath the first owner’s name to add this information

ownership.
• “Next” button will be available once the ownership totals 100%
Important Tip: Ownership must total 100%. If you defined your Business Account using
a nickname, we recommend you modifythe nickname to 0% ownership, thenadd the names of actual owners and definetheir percentage of ownership.
Step 5: Add a rental property to your Business Account
• Click “Add Location.”
Important Tip: The term “Location” refers to a short term
rental property. Every time you add a property to your
Business Account,you will add a “Location.”
You will need the PCN for each property.
Step 6: Enter your rental property information
• The Location number defaults to “1” indicating you are adding your first property.
• Enter the PCN (without dashes) of your first rental property and click “Look Up.” The system automatically populates all remaining fields based on the legal description in our system.
• Enter your telephone number and email address. You can also enter an alternate telephone number, but it is not required.
• Click “Ok.”
Important Tip: Greyed out fields cannot be updated or changed.
Step 7: Select rental type
• Select the type of rental from the Tax Type drop down menu (double click to view drop down).
• Apartment Monthly• Boarding House/B&B/Rooming House Monthly• Commercial Real Estate (not taxable) Monthly• Condominium Monthly• Hotel/Motel Monthly• Lodging Monthly Calendar• Mobile Home Monthly• Multi-Family Monthly• RV Park/Campground Monthly• Single Family Dwelling Monthly• Timeshare Monthly
• Click out of the box, then• Click Next
Important Tip: Each Tax Type is listed as “Monthly.” This is the filing
schedule, not the duration of the rental itself. The TDT number on the right side is blank. It will be
assigned at the end of this process.
Step 8: Review and Submit
• Review the information you entered for your first rental property (Location 1).
• If all information is correct, click “Submit.”
• If you need to make changes, do not use the browser’s back button. Please click “Previous.”
Important Tip: You must click “Submit” to completely
create your account. The TDT Account will not be assigned until
submitted. As a reminder, all TDT accounts must have a

Step 9: Go to the Home Page
• After you click “Submit,” you will see the following message displayed.
• Click “Go To Home Page” to finish setting up your account.
• From the Home Page, click on the “My Accounts” tab to view your accounts.

• Select “Update Business Address” from the dropdown list
• Choose your Business Account• Click on the radial button to display
the address information
