What you’ll learn3. How to create pages for your site

1. Creating your own user login

4. How to create your main website navigation

2. How to adjust the general site settings

“The only thing standing between you and your goal is the bullshit story you

keep telling yourself as to why you can’t achieve it.

-Jordan Belfort

1.CREATING YOUR USER LOGIN

What is a website user?

A user on the website is anyone that has some sort of login access. From the subscriber to the blog to the site administrator, users can have defined roles. Administrators have full access to all of the WordPress options while Editors, Contributors, and Subscribers have limited access.

2.GENERAL SITE SETTINGS

I learned the hard way

When I first started building websites, I didn’t know what to expect. I found out that making sure the site settings are correct has a big impact on the effectiveness of the site. My very first website had over 600 spam comments in the first month of being online. Just a few clicks and things like this won’t happen.

3.CREATING SITE PAGES

What are site pages?

I know this can be confusing so I’ll keep it simple. Site pages are nothing more than the pages of your website like home, about, or contact. Determining the right pages for your site can be a challenge, but I cover everything in this section.

4.CREATING THE SITE’S MAIN

MENU

What is the main menu?

The website menu is the normally at the top of the website. It consists of links to the inner pages of your site. The main menu links are often referred to as “tabs”. The purpose of the main navigation is to be a simplified map to your website. Overcomplicate, or add too many options and people will be confused.
