Questions to Ask Yourself

HOW MUCH CAPACITY DO I NEED? Capacity can be increased with additional towers and/or thicker arms. HOW HIGH DO I WANT THE UNIT? New towers can be ordered in any height. Used towers are most commonly between 12’H–16’H HOW MANY TOWERS DO I NEED? If you have long items to store, you’ll need towers in the middle to keep the items from sagging

CANTILEVER RACK COMPONENTS

SINGLE-SIDED OR DOUBLE-SIDED?

Double Sided Rack will double your count in bases and arms but you’ll be able to store twice as much product with the same amount of towers or without increasing towers (which are the most expensive piece).

HOW MANY STORAGE LEVELS? This unit shows 4 storage levels – the base can be used as a storage level.

HOW MANY ARMS? Multiply number of towers by number of shelf levels you want

to figure out arms for a single-side unit. Apply same formula and multiply by 2 for double-sided units. (Arms on a double-sided unit don’t have to match the front).

WHAT ARM LENGTH?

Arms typically measure between 24”–48”L

HOW MANY BASES? You need 1 base per tower for single-sided cantilever rack You need 2 bases per tower for structural style double-sided cantilever rack WHAT SIZE BASES? Once you find out what length arms you’re going to need, you can then figure out what size base you need. The base length needs to the same, or greater than, the arm length.

Bases can be used as a storage level

HOW MANY X-BRACES? Number of towers will determine how many x-braces you’ll need. X-Braces are the cross braces that give support between the towers. These braces determine the width of your unit. FYI: Horizontal bracing is required for towers 12’H and above. FYI: 84” is recommended maximum width for braces

WHAT IF I STORE PIPES OR THINGS THAT COULD ROLL OFF ARMS? If you’re storing pipes, you’ll need pipe socket attachments to keep

your items from rolling off the ends. Inclined arms are also available.
