How to Download OverDrive EPUB eBooks to your iPad
1. From the App Store on the iPad, search
for OverDrive Media Console.
2. From the results, under iPad
Apps tap FREE beside
OverDrive Media Console.
A green INSTALL APP button
will now appear and replace
the free button.
3. Tap INSTALL APP. You will then be prompted
to enter your Apple ID and/or password.
Enter your information and tap OK. The App
will then install itself.

4. Tap the OverDrive App icon.
5. Tap Get Books+ in the top right hand corner of the screen.
6. Tap Add a Website to find and select your library to add to the website list.
After the first time you successfully download an item from TRACpac, the website will
automatically appear in the list and you will not have to search for it again:

7. In the search box
enter your library’s
name or your postal
code or city and tap
Search.
8. Select your library from the result list by tapping it.
Next, under Library Systems tap The Regional Automation Consortium to access OverDrive
through TRACpac.

9. Log in to your OverDrive account and proceed as normal, signing out only EPUB eBooks (PDF
files are not compatible). Please note: only EPUB eBooks will be displayed using the OverDrive
app to avoid confusion.
10. Once you have checked a title out, tap Download to begin transferring the item.
The first time you do this you will be prompted to
sign in with an Adobe ID (this is for digital rights
management). Tap Sign In if you have an ID to
enter your details. If you do not have an Adobe ID,
tap Register at Adobe.com. Adobe IDs are free.
If you have to register an Adobe
ID, you will be taken to a new
Safari web browser page. Follow
the instructions they provide to
register.
To return to your download after registering, tap the window icon in the top left corner of the
screen and select the OverDrive page. Then tap download for the title you wish to read.

11. You will again be prompted to sign with your Adobe Id. Tap Sign In.
Under eBook Settings tap Authorize with Adobe ID.
Enter your information and tap Authorize. You should only have to do this the first time you
use it.
12. Once authorization is complete, click the square Home button on your iPad and tap the Safari
icon in the bottom left hand corner to return to your OverDrive download.
13. Once again,
select the title
you wish to
download and
tap Download.

14. The title will now download and transfer automatically. It will appear in the OverDrive app
library with an icon indicating how long it is signed out for.
15. Tap the book to begin reading.
To advance pages, tap the
bottom right or left hand corner
of the screen or swipe your
finger across the screen (right to
left to go forward, left to right to
go back). To bookmark your
page, tap the ribbon icon in the
top right hand corner beneath
the battery icon. When the
bookmark has been placed it will
turn blue. To remove the
bookmark, tap it again.
16. To adjust settings such as font or
brightness, or to jump chapters,
tap the middle of the screen to
bring up the options. Tap the
middle of the screen again to
send them away once you are
finished.
When you have finished reading,
or to return to the OverDrive
library, tap the middle of the
screen to make the setting
options appear and click the
arrow in the top left hand
corner.

17. To delete the title from your iPad, swipe your finger along its entry in the library and the delete
button will appear. Tap to delete. Please note: this will only delete the item from your iPad. It
will still be checked out to you in your OverDrive eAccount until the loan period expires.
