2. Introduction Unless you are Jessica Biel or Heidi Klum, you probably arent used to goingto nice events all of the time. Of course it is always fun to get ready and doyour hair, but the part leading up to that can always be stressful. When thetime comes around to dress up for a benefit, wedding, or any other kind ofnice event; many people panic and ask themselves: Is this dress appropriate? Is this too fancy or not fancy enough for the occasion? Will I be too cold if I dont wear tights? Is this pattern or color too bright? While fancy events are always fun, picking what to wear can be difficult. Some women in their 20s dress like they are 50, while a 50 year old womenwears a dress better fit for a teenager. 3. How to Dress as a Women in your 20sBeing a women in your 20s gives you the most leeway in your attire. Wearing a bright color, sparkles, a crazy pattern, or an interesting neckline is much more acceptable for a women in your 20s. Here are some general rules to stick by:1. Chose 1-2 things to show off. Either your legs, chest, or back, but not all 3.2. If you do show off 2 assets, make sure it is done tastefully.3. Dressing a little too fancy is always better than not fancy enough.4. If you think you are going to be cold it is okay to wear tights, they dont make you look old. Just be careful with the color you chose.5. Dont wear too much jewelry. 4. Examples: Amanda Seyfried chose to show off her legs and coverup everywhere else. Taylor Swift went for a plunging neckline and made it tasteful with sleeves and long length. 5. How to Dress as a Women in your 30s Lauren Santo Domingo said that, "I have a theory that girls in their twenties shouldnt wear diamonds and women in their forties definitely should - which makes the thirties a perfect time to experiment with a mix of fine and costume jewelry. Dressing for a nice event as a women in your 30s may not be quite as playful as a women in their 20s, but this is the time to experiment with class. Here are some basic rules to go by:1. Pick 1 asset to show off2. Dont wear anything too short3. Stick with nicer (looking) jewelry4. Tone down the colors, patterns, and sparkles a little bit 6. Examples: Lauren, with husband Andres Santo Domingo goes for a low-cutlook, but keeps the length tasteful. Andres Santo Domingo is a great example ofwhat a man can wear in his 30s. It is more stylish than a suit, but still fancy enough. Amy Adams does the same and choses one asset to show off. 7. Dressing as a Women in your 40s Dressing as a women in your 40s is not that much different than in your 30s.1. Chose 1 asset (if any) to show off, and do it tastefully2. No major cleavage3. No dresses much above your knee4. No costume-looking jewelry5. Try to tone down the sparkles and colors6. Wear a bra 8. Examples: Salma Hayek choses a classic style that shows off her chest butcovers up everywhere else. Lauren Graham choses a tasteful LBD that showsoff her figure without being too revealing. 9. What to Wear as a Women 50+ This is probably the hardest age to dress. A women in her 50s or 60s doesnot want to be perceived as inappropriate, and wants to look beautiful anddignified. Here are some rules: No dresses above the knee No crazy patterns Limited about of sparkles, jewelry, etc. Be careful on what you show off (example: no extreme cleavage, super lowback, etc.) Dont wear something "trendy", you will regret it Sleeveless is okay, but make sure it is appropriate 10. Examples: Marie-Josee (picture with husband Henry Kravis) wears astylish, yet appropriate black dress. Henry Kravis is a great example for men. The suit is clean, classic, and just right any fancy event. Julianne Moore wears abeautiful emerald dress that shows off one asset, but has full coverage every
