ALLOW PUSH NOTIFICATIONS? I DON’T THINK SO.
CONVINCING USERS TO ALLOW PUSH IS HARD.
More and more apps are “priming” users

When user clicks here, display iOS push prompt…
Circa does a really good job priming users in the app’s intro tutorial, by telling them what to do + why to do it.
You only get ONE SHOT with the iOS push prompt. Don’t blow it.
@APPBOYDAVE
Use your own HARD-CODED PUSH PROMPT before displaying the actual iOS push prompt.
FINAL THOUGHTS
If a user chooses not to allow push on your hard-coded prompt, WAIT until they become a power user (multiple sessions, heavy feature usage, etc.) to display the iOS push prompt.
