• Push the shield together with both fingers• This will cause the shield to loosen around

the wire

• Open a hole in the shield to pull the wire through

• Use the knife to pry a hole in the shield

• Pull wire out of shield through the hole you made

• The shield is now hollow

• Twist shield wires together• Twist black (ground) wire together• Slip black plastic banana plug cover over

wires• Solder metal banana plug to wire bundle

• Slip orange plastic banana plug cover over arm lead wire (white).

• Solder metal banana plug to wire.• Repeat for other arm lead.

• Strip other end of wire • Cut shield back from inner wire• Be sure to not solder alligator clip to shield

– This will make your ECG not work• Solder alligator clips to each wire• Tip: For a neater looking job, use heat

shrink tubing around the base of the alligator clip (put on wire before soldering).
