“Thanks for inquiring about pricing options! Why don't you sign up for a trial and give the product a go? If you find out that it's a great fit I'll take care of you and make sure you get a price that makes you happy. Sound fair enough?"

WHY DO THIS?

Never negotiate pricing before someone had a chance to trial your product and determine that it's a good fit because…

NOT WORTH IT

a) You're starting the relationship on the wrong foot (probably low quality customer).

BAD FIT

b) They're buying for the wrong reason if they don't know the value your product provides.

PRICE VS VALUE

c) You're accepting to negotiate based on price, when you should really negotiate based on value.

POWERLESSNESS

d) You have no leverage, as the prospect hasn't invested any time/effort into familiarizing themselves with your solution.
