journals covering business, humanities, social

sciences, science, technology and medicine.

You can search articles and journals by title or

discipline.

To get access to this electronic resource off-campus, you

need to have created an Athens Account. If you don’t

STEP 1 Log in to Weblearn

Log in to Weblearn at: http://weblearn.nescot.ac.uk/

STEP 2 Open the database in your course

Go to your course and find the e-resources and e-books

section. Click on ‘Sage Journals’ to gain access to the

database.

STEP 3 Sign in

On the top of the screen, click on ‘Sign in’ to log in.

STEP 4 Log in using OpenAthens

Click on ‘Sign in via OpenAthens’ to log in.

STEP 5 Authentication Point

Enter your Athens username (ness0------) and password.

STEP 4 Search

Enter keywords in the search box on the top right corner

for a basic search (e.g. race horses). If you wish to do a

more advanced search then you can use the options

below to focus your search.

These settings here allow

you to narrow your

search by a date range.

Then you get a list of results that match your search. You

have full access to all the files that feature a green tick

above the image.

STEP 6 Bibliographic details

Every article you find includes full bibliographic

information such as article title, author, journal title,

volume, date and number of pages. You will need this

information in your bibliography and references if you

use the article in your assignment.

To read the article click on the link to the PDF document.

Minimise / Maximise size

STEP 8 Read the article

Once you get the PDF document, you can read the

article online, minimise or maximise the size and

navigate by using the arrow keys on your keyboard. You

can also print a copy or save it to your computer or

memory stick.
