Shishais a combination of
molasses or honey and tobacco. It is moist and sticky to the
touch, and depending on your storage
method, it can stay fresh for over 6
months after you open its original packaging.
Here are our tips on how to store Shisha in order to keep yours as fresh as possible:
Apart from buying specialty containers from smoke shops, there are several simple and inexpensive ways to store your Shisha with
household items:
Any small plastic container, like you would use to store leftovers. Further seal the Shisha by enclosing it in a zip-lock bag.
Be careful when reusing containers; the flavor of the old shisha may become absorbed into the
plastic and affect your new shisha.
Glass jars
Glass jars are more airtight and less permeable than plastic containers,
which means less bacteria and moisture can affect your shisha.
Mason jars that have a hermetic seal are best.
If you happen to have a cigar box lying around, zip-locking your shisha and storing it in the box
will keep it protected from air and light.
In any case, do not store your shisha in the refrigerator.
A refrigerator’s purpose is to keep its contents cool and dry, which is the opposite of what you
want for your shisha.
