How to STUDY ABROAD in
Canada
Are you hoping to
study abroad in Canada?
Here’s 3 things you’ll
need to prepare for your
adventure!
1. Experience
Most institutions require a high
school diploma or equivalent
qualification.
Internships, or “co-ops”, are
encouraged and sometimes
required by Canadian universities.
Some Canadian provinces require
the completion of 40 hours of
community service,
But this isn’t always the case, so
check with each institution you
want to apply to!
2. Funding
Average tuition fees in Canada for
international undergraduates start at
about CA$14,000, with post-graduate
fees generally higher.
Living costs are likely to be
approximately CA$10,000-15,000
per year.
Remember, the cost of living is
generally higher in cities, and will of
course depend on your lifestyle and
spending habits!
It is also compulsory to purchase
health insurance while studying in
Canada. This will cost
approximately CA$600 a year.
3. A visa
To study in Canada, you will need
a Canadian study permit, which
serves as a student visa.
This costs CA$150, and is not
required for courses lasting 6
months or less.
