Travelling to La Trobe University If travelling via taxi the following directions may assist the taxi driver more than his GPS (which will select a route that is slowed by parked cars and trams): La Trobe University is surrounded by four main roads: 1. Plenty Road 2. Kingsbury Drive 3. Waiora Road 4. Main Drive The best way to travel from the city is to take Heidelberg Road, which will then become Upper Heidelberg Road and then becomes Waiora Road. (Please note that it is possible to use Waterdale Road too, but avoid High Street/Plenty Road as the parked cars and trams make the journey longer than it needs to be!) At the intersection (with traffic lights) of Waiora Road and Kingsbury Drive, turn left. At the next set of lights (which is Kingsbury Drive and Waterdale Road) turn right. At the first roundabout turn left and follow the ring road along to t he next roundabout (which is very large) and turn right. There you will come to the Gatehous e CCO who will grant access to the taxi. The taxi can then drive straight ahead to the roundabout, turning right to drop off people. This building is the David Myers Building with University Reception at the ‘Undercroft’ and where staff from La Trobe can meet you. The best way to travel from the airport is to take the Ring Road, then the Plenty Road exit, turning right into Plenty Road. Stay in the left lane (there are thre e lanes) of Plenty Road heading back towards the city. At the intersection (with traffi c lights) with Kingsbury Drive and Plenty Road, turn left. Go through the next set of traffic lights (which is the North Entry) and then take the next exit (West Entry – it can be a bit hidden). At the funny little interse ction (not quite a roundabout), turn right and at the next (large) roundabout turn left, where you will come to the Gatehouse CCO who will grant access to the taxi. The taxi can then drive straight ahead to the roundabout, turning right to drop off people. This building is the David Myers Building with University Reception at the ‘Undercroft’ and where staff from La Trobe can meet you. A map is attached to assist you – the Gatehouse CCO is located at E9 the ‘Undercroft’ is located at E8 In the unlikely event of a problem with the taxi driver, please note down the cab number, pick up time and place and we can forward to the authorities. Public transport is also an option – please contact us if you require this information. Feel free to contact Diana on 0402 019 615 if something has gone wrong!
