Controller 2 Information
Controller 2 version can be determined by looking at the manufacturing label on the board: CLT-2002A for SPT-2000A , SPT-2000A-HS (2U chassis) or CLT-9002A for SPT-9000A (9U chassis)
OR
by launching your Spirent Test Center application on your computer
connect to your chassis via port reservation menu
go to tools menu, equipment information, then equipment chassis view
scroll all the way to the right and last column will indicate the Controller 2 type and firmware.
Controller 2 - Supports software release 2.20 and later only. Test Modules running older firmware, before 2.20, is not supported.
To check test module firmware version: go to tools menu again, equipment information, then Test Module view. Scroll all the way to the right and last column will indicate the test module firmware.
Note: When the firmware is updated on the Controller 2, it updates the chassis and modules at the same time.
Verify Support Entitlement
A current support entitlement is required to use upgraded software.
Tip: Support entitlement is current if its version date is equal to or later than the software release date associated with the Spirent Test Center upgrade you wish to install.
For example, the support entitlement listed for a chassis expires on 7/23/2010. The software release date is 9/23/2010. We would need to update the support entitlement to be able to use upgraded software.
Verify Support Entitlement, cont…
To look up your Support Entitlement Information
-Launch the Spirent Test Center Application on your computer
-Connect to the chassis that you plan to upgrade
-Select Tools, License Management in the main menu
-Expand the first chassis listing on the All Features Tab
-The chassis column displays the name of each license package and Support Entitlement.
-The Version column displays the date on which the Support Entitlement became effective (format is YYYY.MM)
The information in the Expiration column indicates that the installed package is a licensed version (Permanent) or a demo version (a date)
Scroll down the list of packages in the Chassis column to the first Support Entitlement entry and compare its Version date with the Software release dated displayed in the lower left corner of the Licensing Management
window.
Valid: Support Entitlement Version is equal or greater than the software release date. Proceed with Upgrade
Expired: Support Entitlement Version is less than the software release date. Please contact [email protected] for assistance.
