With some pre-set elements

Then Powtoon l loads

On the left side are Slides

similar to Powerpoint


But try to think of these as Scenes


There are a variety of Styles at the top right


Styles of different Characters,

Props


Backgrounds that are coordinating


But they can be mixed and

matched


Mouse over each character to

see a bigger view


Lets select a Background and get started


To add plain Text just click on

the Text button


And Double click to Type/Edit


Add some text


Or click the Edit button


Then this window opens so you

can Add Text


Then click Apply


As I go to my text you can see


it appears as an item in my

Timeline


Showing that its popping in 1 second


And lasting until 10 seconds


Click on T to shorten the

duration of the text


By using the lines at either end


And I can move it to a new

location


by clicking in the middle


and dragging and dropping it


I can add up to 20 seconds to

each slide


By clicking the Plus + button


After that I will need to add a

new slide


By using the Plus in the slide

view


I can select my text on any

slide


by clicking on it


Each item that you add to

powtoon


has an Entrance and Exit

effect that can be added


by clicking on the Effects box


Click Up


And Right


To preview the Actions I have

added


Click the Play button


The Red Play Head plays along

and video progresses


Click Pause


And I can manually drag this

Red Play Head


along my Timeline


to have a quick look at my

actions


Called Scrubbing through the

video. You can


also add a Hand effect to the

entrance


and Exit effect that you choose


Then click Play Current slide

from start


To show Hand Effect

right


If you want your text itself to

be added


With the unique effects like

Hand Writing Option


Again I can Double click to

edit text


Or click Edit


To Edit the text itself


Then click Apply


I will use the Play Head


to find the spot where this text

first leaves and


And Ill have the hand written text


appear


Adding animations,

characters, props is similar to

editing text


Simply choose an Item


Click a box at the edge of the

item


to resize it and click in the middle


to drag it where you want it


Select a Design


For an Entrance animation


Click Effects button Up


And then Exit one if applicable


And adjust the Time or

Placement of your item


Add another item


And another one


In the slides Timeline


I can click and drag on the Red

Play Head again


Just scrub through my video


Or I can click that Play button


Images can be added as stand

alones


Or they can be put inside a pre-

built image holder


When I select an Image Holder


Im immediately prompted to

Upload a file


From my computer


Or create a Media Search


And flickr opens


or My Library


Which shows my uploaded

pictures

Using the Upload button, click

Insert image


Or just click to select it


And click Insert Image

Just like Text or Animation


I can also add another slide to

continue the story
