A large hotel based on the outskirts of Melbourne recently
installed TempTRIP into their fridges. One morning, the chefs
became frustrated when they discovered all of their TempTRIP’s
flashing red - even though their fridges were the correct
temperature.
Upon analysing the TempTRIP data, they discovered that a nine-
hour power outage had occured overnight due to a circuit breaker.
Earlier that morning, an employee had managed to get the power
running again by resetting the circuit breaker, and didn’t alert any
of the other staff about the outage.
When the chefs arrived, the fridges were cool again - allowing the
problem to go unnoticed. The temperature of the meat inside the
refrigerators had dangerously risen to 13˚C+ overnight. As a result
of the discovery, all of the meat was thrown away.
