Use Wordpress

If you’re wondering how to:

1. Publish a blog post2. Upload a photo3. Embed a video4. Update a pagein Wordpress, look no further.

Welcome to the thunderdome.

First things first, login.

The page will look something like this…

Once you’re logged in the dashboard will look like this…

1. How to publish a blog postGo to posts and click add

new

Now you have to write the post Shakespeare. Oh and give it a title, a catchy title, a title that would be on the cover of a magazine.

Make sure to tag and categorize your blog

Before you publish you’re probably going to want to add a picture.

2. Uploading a photoPut your cursor where you wish the picture

to be. Click Upload/Insert

Hit Select Files

Select the picture from your computer you want to use. Insert an appropriate (or a very inappropriate) title for the picture as well as Alternative text (text for Google)

If you scroll down you’ll be able to change the alignment and size of the picture

If you click Insert into post you picture shall appear.

3. How to embed a video in Wordpress

Find your video on YouTube

Click share, then embed. You can now choose the size of video you want.

Copy the text from YouTube and paste it into the HTML page you have open in Wordpress

Now change the screen back to visual and you should see your video box appear.

Preview changes to see if it’s aligned properly.

4. Updating a page

Select all pages

Click edit on the page you wish to edit

Now you can edit pages just like you’d edit a blog post. Add pictures and videos if you wish.

Always Preview before you publish
