1. Rip a DVD/BD to a DVD/Blu-ray folder or an ISO image file

1.1 Download and install DVDFab

Download and install the latest version of DVDFab onto your computer. After the installation, run DVDFab. You will be prompted to activate DVDFab or to use the trial version. Select “Try” and you can use the free trial for 30 days with complete functions and features.

1.2 Load in the source disc for copy/backup

On the main interface of DVDFab, choose the “Copy” option to enable the software to copy DVD and Blu-ray discs.

Insert the DVD disc or Blu-ray disc into the optical drive. Note: If the source is a Blu-ray disc, you need to use a Blu-ray drive. And if you’re using an external drive, please mount it to the computer before loading the source. After several seconds, the source will be imported with the longest movie title selected by default. 1.3 Change settings to customize backup

1.3.1 Basic settings on the main interface Hover the mouse over the “Chapter” area to change the first and last chapter, through which you can arrange the title for backup.

Hover the mouse over the “Audio” or “Subtitle” area to select other audio tracks or subtitles.

To preview the effect of these settings in real time, click the “Preview” button.

To copy other titles instead, click the “Other Titles” option.

1.3.2 Advanced settings Click the “Advanced Settings” button on the left panel of the interface for professional editing options. Otherwise, the default settings will work well for most users. For the DVD source in this case, we are choosing to copy the DVD-Video content or non-DVD files, and set loop mode for playback.

For the Blu-ray source in this case, we are choosing to remove HD audio or convert DTS/LPCM Audio to AC3.

1.4 Specify the output media and directory

1.4.1 Output media/size On the left panel of the main interface, specify the output media. For the DVD source, the output media can be DVD5 or DVD9.

For the BD source, the output media can be BD50, BD25, BD9 or BD5. Note: When BD9 or BD5 is selected, the output can be compromised by being forced to fit to the size of a DVD9 or DVD5. Though in Blu-ray format the Blu-ray backup file will only be played using a Blu-ray player so file

quality should not be compromised.

When compressing files, the compression ratio appears just under the “Output” option.

1.4.2 Output directory/type In this tutorial, we are going to save the output as a movie folder or an ISO image file on the hard drive of a computer. First, we need to specify a folder or an ISO directory. As shown below, click the arrow button to bring up a list of default directories for folders, image files and drives for burning discs, among which we will choose the directory for the folder or the image file. If you are not satisfied with the default directory, please click on the folder icon or the image file icon to the right of the list, then specify a new directory.

1.5 Start copy

Now that everything is set up, press the “Start” button on the main interface to start copying. During the process, detailed progress info can be viewed, and the computer can be set to sleep, shut down or exit the program when all tasks are completed.

3.1 Introducing the VidOn Server and the VidOn Player

The VidOn Server and VidOn Player are two new tools from VidOn that will allow you to access and have control over your digital video library in exciting new ways. The VidOn Player may be used individually, though it works best with the VidOn Server; but when both are combined with the power of the VidOn Box, digital media viewing quality and capabilities will reach a whole new level. The VidOn Player is a mobile app for Android and iOS which plays basically whatever you through at it and even supports 1080p HD video content. With easy to use gesture controls and automatic categorization of digital media content, the VidOn Player offers you a more beautiful way to

watch movies of your phone or tablet. All movie playback is smooth because of advanced hardware decoding software, even full BD ISO files. Support for multiple audio tracks and internal and external subtitles allows for a level of digital video control and management new to the mobile world. These features are what make the VidOn Player the best option for digital video viewing and management in an increasingly global world. The VidOn Server is a stand alone multimedia resource manager for PC which allows for digital video streaming in conjunction with the VidOn Player. The VidOn server automatically categorizes digital video and images into discrete categories, then collects relevant information for TV shows and movies such as posters, plot summaries, ratings, etc. A new decoding software allows for smooth video streaming based on the network environment, file type and mobile device in use. As well, once any mobile device is connected to the VidOn Server through the same network, it can be used to manage the entire VidOn Server library. Such key features allow this program to create an unrivaled media environment on your PC or in the palm of your hand.
