How Wolves Got Their Howl

Long ago all of the wolves of the world were in one pack of 1,000 wolves, so none of them needed to locate one another.

One day there was a very large earthquake that separated two wolves from the pack. Their names were Balto and Dawn.

They were Balto and DawnThe two wolves got separated tried to

go around the crack and started to get lost.

They finally stopped in the woods to rest and figure out a plan. Soon Dawn said “We are hopelessly lost!” Balto agreed and said, “If there was someway we could communicate, I bet they could find us.”

They both nodded there heads in disapproval. Then they kept walking. They finally went into a meadow with many flowers and a pine tree.

She was mother pine. Balto was too tired to keep moving and he wanted some shade so he went to sleep under mother pine.

Mother pine didn’t like this at all. She dropped all of her sharpest needles on him and he started to howl in pain. “OWWWW,OWWWWW”

When Balto got away he found dawn on the other side of the clearing and he told her what happened. Then Dawn said “If they could howl back to us I bet we could find them.”

Then they both got an idea. They figured that if they howled loud enough the pack could here them and follow the noise.

Balto and Dawn started to howl together.

“Howl, Howl!”

Balto and Dawn started to howl together. “Howl, Howl!” Then all of a sudden the pack came out of the woods. The leader of the pack said, “Nice work now we can all split into different packs.”

That is how wolves got their howl. “Howww, Howwwww
