How to setup a VPN connection to UCP on Mac OS X This Howto is based on OS X Mavericks 10.9. There may be some differences in your specific OS X version.
Go to System Preferences by clicking on the Apple icon of the top left hand corner of your screen and click on Network.
Make sure changes are unlocked (requires administrator password). Then click the + sign to add a new connection.
Select VPN in the Interface box.

Then give a name to your connection.
Type the UCP server address into Server Address, your account name into Account Name (E.g. your teacher number) and click Authentication Settings. NOTE: The server address is the image may change in the future. If you experience any problems please contact the DSI helpdesk.
Select the Password User Authentication method, type the UCP shared secret in Shared Secret and then click OK. NOTE: You can get the shared secret from the DSI helpdesk.
Click Connect.

Type your password and click OK.
You should now be connected to the VPN. Please note the green light on the left of the connection name. To disconnect click Disconnect. Make sure to click on the lock to prevent accidental changes to your configuration.
