If we have a Router in our local network (LAN) and want to allow external access to our Web Server we will have to open and map the port specified previously. And if we have also a firewall in our PC we have to configure it. If we have already installed Apache and, in case of having firewall/router, allowed the traffic for the above mentioned port, we will be able to try our Web Server realizing an external connection. We have to find out the public IP that we have (assigned by our Internet provider, which does not have to coincide with the local IP of the PC, and it is also recommended to be fixed for a Web Server, if we do not know it we can obtain it pulsating here).

After obtaining it, we have to open the file “C:\AppServ\www\search.php” and modify the URL line :

For example, the server is installed on my computer and the IP address of my computer is 192.168.0.231. So I should replace the URL from http://10.0.0.1/ to http://192.168.0.231/ We have finished. Now, we can make a search from a remote PC/Yealink Phone. If we want to know which entries start with letter “de”, then open WEB-browser and type in http://IP/search.php?NAME=de
