How to Sign up for a Live Binder
1. Open a new internet page
2. Go to livebinders.com
3. Click on the button that says, “FREE-‐Sign Up”
4. Click “yes” to sign up with a teacher email
5. Username is your HAC login
6. Enter your teacher’s email
a. [email protected] b. [email protected] c. [email protected]
7. Password is your HAC password
8. Click “Sign Up Now”
How to Create a Binder
1. Once logged in click “Start a Blank Binder” 2. Enter the binder name given to you by your teacher
3. Enter the description given to you by your teacher
4. Keep the category as personal
5. Keep the binder on private
6. Click “Create New Binder”
How to Add Text to a Binder 1. Click on “Content” from the top tabs
2. This is where you will add your assignments by either clicking “upload” and attach a word
document or by clicking “text”
3. If you want to upload a document click on “Upload” then you need to click on “Choose File” find the name of the document you want (it must be saved before you can upload it) and click on it. Then click on upload.
4. If you want to add text click on “Text” and then choose the “1 Column Text”. Click the “x” to close out of “Add Content”
5. The layout is divided into two sections, the first box is for a title and the second is for notes. This is tab 1 which equals page 1 of binder
6. Click on “Click Here To Edit”
7. Add your text using the tool bar like you would in a word document. Then click the save
button (blue disk) YOU MUST SAVE FOR US TO SEE YOUR WORK!!
8. To move onto page 2 of your binder click on “Tab 2”
9. You will then need to click on the “Content” tab again and select “Upload” or “Text”
10. After you complete Tab 3 and need to begin tab 4 click “+ Tab”
You can then select “Upload” or “Text” to begin working on tab 4
11. Continue adding tabs until your binder is complete.
12. REMEMBER TO SAVE YOUR WORK OFTEN

How to Log In and Edit your Binders
1. Once you have an account set up just click log in on the top right side 2. Once logged in you will see your binders in
the home screen
3. Move the mouse over the binder you want to open click “Edit” to being working again
Entering a URL
1. When opening a new tab there is a yellow space to enter a URL.
2. Here you will copy and paste a website to add to your binder Example:
a. Go to mrgigliotti.com b. Click choose a topic
c. Under unit #4 click on “John Adams and Conflict with France” d. Highlight the URL
e. Go to Edit and click copy
f. Go back to your binder and click in the yellow “Enter a URL” box
g. Click Edit again then click paste
h. Then click “Insert” to add the website to your binder
How to Set up Your Binder
1. Click on “Content”
2. Under “Tab Name” change tab 1 to say Learning Targets
3. Then select “Text”
4. From the “Text Layout” click on “1 Column Text”
5. Click on the x to close out
6. In the first box select “Click Here To Edit”
7. Add the title “Learning Targets”
8. Then click save (blue disk)
9. The second box will be used to write your Learning Targets every day

10. Click on Tab 2
11. Click behind the 2 to put your cursor there then press delete on the keyboard till tab 2 is gone.
12. Then add the title given by your teacher
13. Next you will add Mr. Gigliotti’s assignment URL (follow the directions given for
adding a URL)
Your page should look like This after clicking insert
14. After adding the URL, you need to create a sub tab a. Click “Sub Tab”
b. This will add a tab under Tab 2
15. Rename your sub tab
16. This is where you will add your assignment a. You can upload the assignment (directions under “How to Add Text”) b. Or you could add text (directions under “How to Add Text”)
17. Continue adding the assignment URL and your work
18. BE SURE TO SAVE OFTEN
