Planning is Critical
Simple approach – More is not always better Avoid KPI bloat on scorecard Just because you can define it doesn’t mean you have
to Answer these questions: Which milestones do we want to use? What is the critical exit criteria for each milestone?
Can we release on time if this exit criteria is not met? Can I adjust resources or scope to meet the criteria?
Should I define thresholds for my KPIs? What historical data do I have to help define KPIs? Should I track KPIs separately for parallel development
activities (i.e. scope items)? Which milestones are applicable to each scope item
