What is Tie Up The Black Dog?The name “Tie Up the Black Dog” was taken from Winston Churchill’s description of depression as a “black dog.” Co-founder of the committee Mary Woods stated that ‘we wanted to impress people that you can control/manage it—hence tying up the black dog—an expression rural people can relate to’.
