Social business (SB) exists for the soul purpose of fulfilling
a social mission. As such, entrepreneurial stewardship
becomes a pivotal strength for this kind of organisation.
The growing interest in social business comes at a time
when traditional corporate social responsibility (CSR)
activities are no longer effective in solving social issues.
Today, the contribution of social business is recognized
worldwide since social business works towards improving
societal problems that one way or another, are driven by
the consumerist lifestyle, environmental degradation,
and industrial-based economic system.
The mindshift towards accepting social business as a good
alternative to mainstream business, is growing stronger
worldwide, and more and more, entrepreneurs are
incorporating social innovation into their business model.
