Senior HR executiveBashundhara Group:Pros: This job advertisement has a very good job description which enables a candidate to match his ability with the requirements. The advertisement itself is a screening process as the requirement to have knowledge of SAP will discourage those who have no idea about it. Cons: Whether the company will provide any remuneration package or not is not mentioned here clearly. They should have add another point in this advertisement termed as Other BenefitsA High Tech (Telecom) Multinational Company:Pros: This one is also a good job advertisement as it tells the responsibilities of a candidate. It technically tells that the candidate needs to be extrovert as he needs to work with external parties and present his works before others. Cons: The term a high tech multinational company is vague because the candidate does not know where he is going to apply.The Rani Re- Rolling Mills Ltd.:Pros: This job advertisement clearly describes that the candidates must have the ability to take a lot of stress as the job requirements says that one must comply with the overtime policy. It technically asks for people who are extrovert as they need to work with multicultural people. Cons: A very big job description which may discourage one to apply after looking at it. Some points have been repeated which made it unnecessarily lengthy. The job asks for computer operation but did not specify if they need knowledge of any particular software. Recommendations:The above three job advertisements have some merits and demerits. It is expected that the candidate should know about his duties and responsibilities properly. In Bangladesh, many job advertisements have such title a reputed.. which needs to be avoided. Besides the advertisement should be short and clear. Too broad description makes things complicated. And if any company wants that their candidate should have prior knowledge on any particular field or tools, they should mention it clearly in their job description.

Accounts officerS.A Group of Industries:Pros: The preference for the experienced one in transportation sector will work as a screening tool. The advertisement also tells that the job is only for male. May be this is because of the environment of the organization Cons: Too short and vague job description. Did not mention the proper responsibilities of a candidate. Too work with account related work, this term should be more specified and mentioned in what areas a candidate is going to work for. Suandorzo Cultural Academy:Pros: Good job description and requirements describing all the demands of the organization. Especially to prefer people familiar with musical background will work as a screening tool and the selected candidates will find it easy to blend with the organizational culture.Cons: The additional requirements asked to have good knowledge on project and account management but did not mention anything regarding this in the job description.Thalassemia Foundation Hospital and Blood Bank:Pros: Clearly told about the requirements of the company like to have prior knowledge on accounting software, MS Office package. Also encouraged people who can take a lot of pressure as the job requirements tells that the candidate have to take loads.Cons: Even though the advertisement asked for knowledge about accounting software, it was not mentioned about which one SAP, Oracle Financials or any other.Recommendations:In the above three advertisements, the lack of required information is visible. In the first one is a perfect example of incomplete advertisement which needs to be avoided. In many job advertisement the proper duties and responsibilities of the candidate are not mentioned which should not happen to avoid any misunderstanding in future. Moreover in the job advertisement it is expected to mention which technological tools should the candidate be able to operate. 1 | Page
