Process Improvement (PI) Project
• Increase donation education and donor registrations by motivating more hospital participation in the WPFL Hospital Campaign.
• Make participation in WPFL easier by tailoring the tools and resources CDS was providing to hospitals to match the WPFL Hospital Campaign needs.
• PI Project Team Members are inclusive of both Hospital Development and Communications and Marketing staff. Increases support and resources.
Goals of Project
• Continue our strong partnership with our hospitals.
• Increase hospital participation in WPFL Campaign from 34 in last years phase to 65 hospitals.
• Develop additional tools and resources for our hospital partners.
• Increase donation awareness and donor registrations.
• Save and enhance more lives!
How We Arrived at Our Plan of Action
• Analyzed Phase IV data.
• Reached out to other OPOs for best practices and Akoya for coaching and support.
• Asked NCHA, AHA and HRSA for letters of support.
• Surveyed our hospital partners to learn what tools are most needed/desired and how best to access those tools.
• Examined the resources we currently offer our hospital partners and created new tools for hospitals.
• Streamlined the WPFL enrollment and participation process for hospitals and our team.
Encouraging Hospitals to Enroll
• On 10/5/15, a letter was emailed to CEOs of all hospitals NOT currently enrolled in WPFL by the NCHA from the CEOs of Carolina Donor Services and the NCHA inviting them to enroll in Phase V of the WPFL Hospital Campaign.
• We asked CEOs to designate a hospital representative, via a webform, as a primary contact for the campaign.
