CONFINED SPACE RESCUE
AREA OF EXPERTISEUpstream, Midstream, Downstream, Industrial/Refineries
HSE’s confined space rescue team is fully trained in the required techniques, and outfitted with the equipment to undertake an efficient rescue operation. Our com-petent rescue teams have the experience to meet our customers’ needs and objectives.
In most industrial settings there are many inherent dangers associated with entering into confined spaces. Oxygen de-ficiencies, toxic gases, explosive atmospheres and scope of work are just a few. In a perfect work environment, workers would be trained in proper procedures and personal pro-tective equipment use before entering potentially hazardous confined spaces, and such emergencies would not be an is-sue. However, confined space accidents still occur.
7
Part of HSE’s confined space rescue service is the implementation of a proper pre-plan for specific confined space work. We’ll help our clients complete:
+ Thorough hazard assessments + Review lockout and tagout procedures + Ensure the integrity of permits is complete + Demonstrate the proper use of personal protective equipment + Ensure that an effective rescue plan is in place and all personnel
involved are informed of their responsibilities
Clients using HSE’s confined space rescue services often opt to in-clude the backup of experienced and licensed emergency medical professionals and fully equipped mobile medical units.

SPECIAL SERVICES
DXP HSE Integrated has a team of highly skilled and experienced Hot Tap and Freeze services personnel and the equipment to help our clients when conventional methods are unavailable.
We provide a range of specialized services for oil and gas well drilling and completions, as well as for other heavy industries that demand a swift reaction in emergency situations. DXP HSE Integrated’s Special Services Department consists of seasoned industry professionals with decades of experience in North America and internationally.
HOT TAP SERVICES
DXP HSE Integrated’s hot tap drilling enables operators to access pressurized, or potentially pressurized, piping or vessels while maintaining pressure control. The process is widely used to facilitate re-entry and abandonment, establish bleed off ports, or provide access for well-kill procedures. Hot tapping is typically used when no other options exist, and has proven to be a safe and integral means of pressure control.
FREEZE JOBS
When conventional pressure control equipment fails to function or the integrity of equipment is in question, temporary pressure control can be established with DXP HSE Integrated’s freeze service. This process involves creating an ice plug to serve as a means of primary pressure control to facilitate repairs or modifications to equipment. With the use of dry ice and a water/gel mixture, the procedure requires no kill fluids and is non-threatening to fluid-sensitive formations.
Applications for this unique process include:
+ Valve change-out+ Wellhead replacements+ Pipeline repairs
