About UsHospital School SA provides educational
programs by focusing on personalised learning
through targeted teaching for students and
young people.
Schooling can be negotiated for outpatients
unable to attend their own school and the
school-aged siblings of country/interstate
patients.
Hospital School SA delivers the Early Years
Learning Framework, Australian Curriculum and
SACE in a classroom setting for all years:
· Preschool
· Junior Primary: Reception to Year 4
· Middle School: Year 5 to Year 9
· Senior School: Year 10 to Year 12
We collaborate with individual schools and
other educational institutions to ensure
continuity in students’ learning.
We provide teaching on the wards as well as in
our two classrooms at the Hospital School on
the Ground Floor. Students will receive
teaching on the ward or in the classroom
depending on their need.
Enrollment Referral Form
The initial referral needs to be completed by
the Nursing Staff and Parent or Guardian.
Please make a time to meet with the Deputy
Principal or teacher to discuss the information
on the form.
Students can commence at the beginning of
the next teaching session if all the information
has been completed and any relevant
documentation received (e.g. Health Support
Plans, NEP or IEP).
Students must be signed in when they attend
the Hospital School classroom and signed out
each time they leave by the Play Therapist or
medical professional. The sign in/out iPad is
situated at the front office area.

story CD’s and DVD’s. These can be borrowed
by in-patients, out-patients and their families.
Laptops can be borrowed by inpatients during
school hours.
Cyber-Safety
Hospital School SA provides the Department for
Education wireless network. Students can
access our network via electronic devices. The
network runs based on Department for
Education network standards and is secured
with passwords. The measures to ensure the
cyber-safety of Hospital School SA are based
on our core values. To assist us to enhance
learning through the safe use of information
and communication technologies (ICTs), we
request you read and sign the Hospital School
SA ICT User Agreement (see referral when
enrolling).

If mobile phones are brought to school they
need to be switched off or on silent and not
used during class time. If they are used, then
they will need to be handed to office staff
