Rush Week 2013
Rush week is an exciting, intense time for many students at Henderson, and
equally confusing for many others. Rush week it is more officially known as
recruitment week. It is the period of time when our Henderson Interfraternity
Council Fraternities and National Panhellenic Sororities recruit students to
their respective Greek letter organizations. National Pan-Hellenic Council
Fraternity and Sorority never holds a Rush Week.
This year NPC Rush Week was held during the week of September 9-13; while
IFC Rush Week was held during the week of September 17-20. More than 150
Henderson students signed up to participate during our IFC/NPC Rush Weeks.
Although only 67 Henderson students, who at the end of Rush Week, received
bids to join a NPC Sorority and twenty one who received bids to join an IFC
Fraternity. To our NPC and IFC Presidents, THANK YOU for all your work!
To all of our New Members….WELCOME to HSU GREEK FAMILY!!!!

NATIONAL PAN-HELLENIC COUNCIL
NPHC at HSU consists of seven of the “Divine 9” African-American based fraternal
organizations. These fraternities and sororities pride themselves in the various educational,
social, philanthropic and cultural programs held throughout the year, and the Homecoming
Greek Step Show is no exception.
Seven of the eight NPHC organizations at HSU participated: Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Kappa
Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, and Zeta Phi Beta. Over 2000
people attended HSU Homecoming Greek Step Show which took place on Saturday, October
12 at the Wells Gym. Winners of the female category was the chapter of Delta Sigma Theta;
and the winners of the male category was the chapter of Omega Psi Phi.
A NPC Greek Organization, Alpha Sigma Alpha, participated as exhibition team. This event
