MANUFACTURING CAPABILITIES
CNC Turning, Boring, Drilling, Milling and ThreadingTube-Alloy™ has wide capabilities in turning, boring, drilling and threading on fifteenComputer Numerically Controlled TurningCenters. Tube-Alloy’s CNC lathes are rugged, precise state of the art tools that can accom-modate short work pieces or long bars ortubes placed through the hollow spindlemachine head.
O.D. TurningOutside turning part diameter range is 4" to34" adjacent to chuck. Larger O.D. parts arelimited to approximately 12" in length.
Outside turning part diameter range is 1/2"to 24" for pieces between 12" to 120" inlength. Turning of larger O.D. pieces is alsopossible, depending on part length.
I.D. BoringBoring is achieved with rigidly suspended bor-ing bars. Internal contouring, grooving, thread-ing, etc. is possible with other tools.
Maximum bore diameter is limited only bythe outside part diameter constraints (seeO.D. Turning). Minimum bore diameter is nor-mally .750", smaller bores are normally drilled.
DrillingHoles can easily be drilled on part center line orfixtured for off center drilling with drills mountedin the turret. Hole counter boring, chamfering orreaming can easily be accomplished.
Tube-Alloy also has manual lathes and man-ual vertical milling machines to complement itsCNC turning, boring and drilling capabilities.
Skiving (For Rapid I.D. Enlarging)Tube-Alloy’s precision skiving (reaming) capa-bility can process tubes up to 30 feet long. Themachine utilizes a machining head capable ofreaming .080" per pass, holding tolerances to±.002", in a diameter range of 1.500" to 4.250".Finishes of 63 - 125 RA are common. A spe-cial burnishing tool can be used to attain 8 - 16RA finishes. The advantage over honing ishigher speed and lower cost.
The equipment is also used for drilling deepholes in solid between 1.500" to 4.00" diameter,up to 16 feet long.
CNC ThreadingComplex threading and grooving is Tube-Alloy'sspecialty. Tube-Alloy is API Spec 5CT and 14Alicensed. In addition, Tube-Alloy is licensed toapply API threads and most of the worlds pro-prietary threads (see page 9).
