THE MOST IMPORTANT ROOM IN YOUR LIFE

My kitchen is the most important room in your life. It’s here your family gathers. It’s here you meet with friends. It’s your home offi ce, where you sit with your PC and a good cup of coffee. The kids play computer games in your open-plan kitchen and you use it as your hobby room too. And of course it is here too that you prepare lots of delicious food. In short, a kitchen can be exactly what you want it to be. You can do anything you like in a kitchen. It is the most important room in your life.

We bring nature indoors in this harmo-nious kitchen design. The new model Seven Natural Oak in selected oak veneer is carefully treated with clear eco-friendly varnish. In this kitchen the white-painted units form a sculptural framework – the worktops are another HTH speciality. Extra slim worktops in compact laminate. Elegant and durable.

PLAYROOMThe kitchen is the natural centre of family activities. Because children always want to be where their parents are. Make a space for them to sit and draw, do homework or play games. If you can, make sure you have lots of fl oor space. What is to stop you from storing toy cars and dolls on the bottom shelves or in kitchen drawers?

Page 17: HTH Heildarbæklingur

We can now offer three brand new individual “tattoos” on selected Melamine High Gloss White kitchen doors. When you choose Limited, you can build change and style into your kitchen environment.

MEETING POINT

A young family from Hareskovby in Denmark completely renovated their kitchen and it became a magical haven, oozing tranquillity and light and a hint of Austria.

In a rural village not far from Copenhagen, there is a family living in an old villa which was built in 1921. When the family took over the house a couple of years ago, it was the house of their dreams from the outside. But the interior had to be renovated from top to bottom. One of the fi rst steps was to remove the walls between the kitchen and the living rooms to create larger, lighter rooms. They had new windows and plank fl oors put in which capture the atmosphere of the old house, and then the family built a new HTH kitchen in a simple Scandinavian style.

Three important requirementsThe kitchen was designed on the basis of three principal criteria: It had to be large and integrated with the living room so that there was plenty of room for the two young daughters to play while either Mum or Dad were in the kitchen. They wanted a stove, as the lady hails from Austria, where a wood-burning stove is a central feature in many kitchens. Finally, the kitchen also had to be practical. The family stressed that they needed plenty of space to move around the kitchen ele-ments, so they chose a classic L-shaped kitchen.

Social spaceNow that renovation work is complete, the kitchen is light and the atmosphere is cosy, thanks to antique furniture and fi ne features which add character. The décor is harmonious and the family feels that their kitchen is exactly what they had imagined it would be.

“As we have small children, we spend a lot of time in the kitchen so we are delighted to have a large room with lots of space around the dining table and space for the children to play. The kitchen has become our magical haven and the room we most like to spend time in,” explains the owner.

Page 20: HTH Heildarbæklingur

HTH kitchens have always featured simple, modern contours. Model Mono White represents a new interpretation of this Danish design tradition. A sleek 16 mm front panel with a gently rounded edge enhances the inherent elegance of Mono White. Note the two-drawer look, providing masses of useful storage space. Mono is also available in the full range of smart HTH colours.

The new HTH door design in light structured oak melamine lends a warm and positive atmosphere to the kitchen. Mid-height kitchen units function as a room divider. The new, durable HTH model Nova in white high-pressure laminate epitomises Danish design simplicity. We have painted the new Nude grip in the same shade of white. Note too the shelving, which gives a delightful open and airy feel to the room.

HOBBY ROOMNo matter your hobby, you should consider making space for it in your new kitchen. Maybe you are hoping to use the kitchen as a cosy home workshop or artistic refuge? Maybe you need to fi nd space for a fl at screen and a games console so that you can compete with your friends? It’s your kitchen, and you can do what you like in it. Think carefully about what you want and include it in the design of your new kitchen.

A classically beautiful room. Add a contemporary, highly functional open-plan kitchen design. The result is the ideal space in which to enjoy life. The light yellow shelf stripe on the back wall is the perfect contrast to the white-painted surfaces of HTH model Mono. Note the solid wood worktop in stained New Zealand pine.

The attractive bevelled corners highlight the simple purity of this new model. We gave this design a fl oating look. We have brought Mother Nature into our kitchen too. There’s even space for some herbs. The model is made from solid fi breboard painted with tough white varnish.

HTH’s Trend White Beech model combines everything Scandinavian – white sur-faces framed in light beech wood – and at a very competitive price. By making gaps between the cupboards we have given this design space and buoyancy, without compromising on cupboard space requirements. The bench arrangement under the window has also been created using standard HTH units – the options are only limited by your imagination.

Our colour designer has found a new yellow. Full of life and energy. The new yellow is set off against a dusty grey on the base units and wall panels. A small, well-planned kitchen with everything for a single person in this renovated town house. Note that the wall panelling provides extra storage space.

HTH has created the gastronomic kitchen for everyone who loves to cook. You can share preparation work around the central sink island in the middle – there’s a great cooking zone built around a gas hob – and a separate zone with refrigerator and two ovens. This kitchen is ideal for conjuring up meals for a small family – or for big parties. Note the subtle contrast between the black-stained oak veneer and the light laminate surfaces.

2. Fit worktops at the right height to avoid straining your back

3. Place the dishwasher close to the sink

4. Place drawers and units so that the utensils you use most often are easy to get hold of

5. Make sure there are plenty of heat-resistant surfaces next to the stove

6. Fully-extending drawers are brilliant as they make it easy to reach everything in the unit

7. Place crockery within easy reach. Remember that it is often heavy to lift.

8. You use your best knives all the time. Make sure they are in easy reach.

9. To create extra storage space, choose plinth drawers.

10. Make sure you allow plenty of space for cleaning close to the sink and where you prepare food. This makes peeling vegetables, etc. much easier.

Briefl y put: more storage space in the already spacious tall unit. When you open the unit, a brilliant pull-out system ensures that the trays automatically follow to provide you with optimal overview and access to the contents.

4. ServodriveWhy not treat yourself on a daily basis? A gentle touch and the drawer slides silently out. Has to be seen.

5. Corner unit pull-outFull-blown luxury. A light touch is suffi cient to bring the two shelves almost fl oating out. The bottom is made of easy to clean synthetic material.

6. Dispensa front pull-outSimple and practical. The front pull-out func tion makes it simple to draw out the entire contents of the unit. It provides instant overview and direct access to what you need. Choose between two types of trays.
