As the mayor of Port Orchard, I consider it a privilege to welcome you to our community.

Port Orchard is a very unique place, with much to offer in the way of outdoor recreation, great schools, unique shopping, a world-class marina, historic downtown, friendly business climate, low crime rate and an excellent quality of life.

It’s a terrific place to raise a family or start a business

We’re proud of our city. It has a unique heritage going back more than a century. It is also the inspiration for Harlequin’s best-selling Cedar Cove series of novels, penned by local

resident Debbie Macomber, whose books regularly top the New York Times’ best seller list.

Our beautiful City Hall, with its proud clock tower and unique musical bells, has become a local landmark.

There are fun things to do all year long: Murder Mystery Weekend, where pirates take over the town; The Cruz – one of the largest custom car shows on the entire West Coast, happens every August; and here’s also the annual Chris Craft Rendezvous, where some of the most beautifully restored classic boats grace our waterfront, as well as Fathom’s o’Fun, our yearly summer festival, which includes the Fourth of July fireworks and a parade.

There’s also our weekly summer musical events, Concerts on the Bay, along with our popular Farmer’s Market on the downtown waterfront which happens every Saturday from April until October.

There’s an Arts Walk downtown the third Friday from May to August, and of course the famous Seagull Calling Contest, which has to be seen to be believed.

Finally, we close out the year with the Festival of Chimes and Lights, during which the entire downtown becomes a magical place for kids of all ages.

Yes, Port Orchard is a great place to live and work. We hope you’ll enjoy discovering it as much as we enjoy living here.

Port Orchard: Whatever you want,

we’ve got it

Because...

Dad’s a Dude

There’s

www.kpshealthplans.com

Bob has hit another “phase” in life. This time he bought a skateboard and is trying to keep up with the kids.Rest assured, if he doesn’t complete the half pipe, Bob’s got KPS. He knows that KPS has an extensive network of more than 47,000 preferred providers in Washington state alone. So he can see any doctor he’d like, without a referral, wherever Bob’s travels may take him.And he will see many more phases of life, thanks in part to KPS’s dedication to the wellness of its members. After all, health plans are about life.

Live it up Dad!
