History of Christ Temple Apostolic Ministries
To witness the birthing of a new-born deer, one would observe the pain and anguish involved as the young, delicate and fragile animal is squeezed out into a world of uncertainty and unfamiliarity. As the mother pushes, the young deer lands on the ground, feeble and unable to stand strong. Gradually, slowly, the young deer then starts to move with a little more strength and grace, until eventually it is able to run; but more importantly leap over all obstacles. Likewise, the beginning and establishment of Christ Temple has been a similar birthing.
Christ Temple came forth in the year of 1996, as a result of a vision given by God many years ago to His servant Dr. David Braynen Sr. The vision never died; it made an indelible impression within his heart and mind. Dr. Braynen answered the call of God in the midst of change and transition, not knowing what the future would hold, but believing God to fulfill His promises. Dr. David Braynen Sr., along with his wife Lady Geisha Braynen, and a few notable founding members - Mother Epsie Whylly, Bro. Kermit and Sis. Loretta Mackey, and a few others, embarked upon a journey.
The initial building structure which housed services was located in Coconut Grove and did not have the pleasantries and comfort factor that would seem suitable. The surroundings posed a number of challenges from outside forces. Yet, none of these things prevented the move of God. In fact, it fueled a growth in the level of spirituality and determination within the members.
Just as the young deer landed on the ground, Christ Temple landed on the Solid Rock - JESUS. The church has forged ahead through many obstacles, and just as the young deer gained strength, Christ Temple gained and developed strength to leap over every hurdle. For the Lord has promised that He would make our feet like hinds feet. Thank God He is faithful to His promises!

Pastor Prophetess Lenora Sands
The author of the books - “Drawing Closer to God,” “The Power of Travail” Series 1, 2, & 3’; and co-author with her husband of the book “Understanding the Gifts of the Spirit,” Pastor Prophetess Lenora Sands is no stranger to the Christian community in the Bahamas.
An ordained minister of the Gospel, Pastor Sands hails as a dynamic leader and woman of God, who has an infectious personality and deep conviction that faith can undoubtedly move mountains.
She is widely known for her insightful appearances on talk shows and radio programmes, including “Sands of Life Power Minute” and “Sands of Life TV Broadcast,” and life-changing crusades under the big green and white tent. She is a powerful preacher and teacher of God’s Word, that is known for accuracy in the Gifts of the Spirit, mainly the Word of Knowledge, Word of Wisdom and Healing. Pastor Sands is a lover of street-work, and outdoor evangelism. She is honored and respected among the most outstanding women pastors in her country. After all, she is one of the youngest female pastors who founded a work in her era.
Today, she has proven that God is still in search of vessels who have faith in Him no matter what; and so with mountain-moving faith, in December of 1987, a team of four took the Family Islands of the Bahamas by force, headed by this young woman who undoubtedly was assured of her call. Pastor Lenora Sands further led the team to the United States of America, ministering in areas such as Miami, Orlando and West Palm Beach, Florida; Richmond, Virginia; Indianapolis Indiana; other parts of North America and the world.
After four years of evangelistic work, a call to pastor was confirmed through dreams, visions, signs, wonders, and even an audible voice. Pastor Lenora Sands was given a dream and heard the voice of God tell her to build Him a house, to lead a people, and that He would call her and her husband to pastor. In response to the Lord and with the consent of her husband, they both dedicated all of their talents to the Lord. Pastor Lenora - the Preacher, and Pastor Derek - the Teacher.
Pastor Lenora is the wife of Pastor Derek Sands, and this union is blessed with one son - Derek Sands, Jr.
She is an unusually anointed preacher, teacher, listener, comforter, counselor, administrator, mother and a determined woman of prayer. She is a prophetic voice to her generation. This 21st century “Hannah,” with the help of the Almighty God, and her husband, Pastor Derek Sands, shall fearlessly pursue her appointed destiny. She is a yielded vessel, sold out for the master’s purpose. *
