Being the largest research centre in the EIE Department, the Centre for Multimedia Signal Processing is targeted to be a Major Research Centre in South East Asia in multimedia technologies.

The Applied Nonlinear Circuits and Systems Group has an impressive record of accomplishments. The works from members of this group have made important benchmarks in the area of nonlinear system research.

Communications, especially mobile communications and networking, has experienced a phenomenal growth during the past two decades and this growth is projected to continue in the foreseeable future. The Group undertakes research in different areas of communications.

The Thin Film and Optoelectronics Research Group focuses on applied experimental and theoretical research for the development of modern semiconductor optoelectronic devices. One of its major areas of investigation studies III-V nitride-based devices for applications such as light emitters, detectors, and modulators.

based UV detectors and Light emitters• Non-destructive measurement of

longitudinal dispersion of an optical fiber• Optimum design of dispersion profile of

an optical communication system• Realization of high-density information

storage using ferroelectric thin films
