The Air Force Outreach Program Office performed its roles in Small Business Education, Outreach to the Defense industry and Small Business and Technical Assistance , Media Marketing and Communication duties for SAF/SB from 1998 through 2008 from Brooks City-Base.

On 1 Oct 2008, the organization was renamed to the Air Force Small Business Solutions Center. Our new taskings included Market Research and Assessment, Data Analysis and Risk Assessment in support of Air Force Strategic Sourcing initiatives.

SBSC uses company profile information available online through Dun and Bradstreet to assess company business strength

Past performance is reviewed through the Contractor Performance Assessment Review System (CPARS) and using telephone or email inquiries to contracting and program management personnel on past contracts.
