EtherWAN's US headquarters are located in Anaheim, CA with Pacific Rim headquarters and manufacturing facility in Taipei, Taiwan. EtherWAN specializes in designing and manufacturing fiber optic Ethernet products and Ethernet equipment for harsh environments. It has products deployed for industrial automation, transportation, and security surveillance all over the world. EtherWAN provided switches for connecting roadside traffic cabinets in Arlington Texas, which was the first city-wide transportation Ethernet deployment in the USA. Oilfield Automation
Placentia, CA anyone who lives in a major metropolitan area and commutes to work knows the roadways are extremely crowded and getting more so every day, during morning and evening commute time. While the obvious solution is to build more and larger roadways to accommodate more automobiles, many localities have recognized that there are other technological solutions that can complement or supplement the traditional project of adding or widening roadways. Another solution is to use Advanced Technology Management Systems to monitor and manage the ongoing traffic congestion in a better way. Traffic management systems, today, include traffic light controllers with inputs from various types of vehicle detectors (such as video, radar and magnetic), video surveillance systems, dynamic message signs and other systems to measure traffic flow and congestion. These systems are designed to allow traffic engineers and emergency personnel to monitor traffic flow and predict trouble spots before they become trouble spots.
From a central location, the traffic management center (TMC), authorities are able to monitor traffic and weather conditions from CCTV cameras installed at various locations in and around the city. Information gathered at the TMC is shared with other agencies and cities in a region to manage traffic more effectively. The traveling public is informed about potential problem areas by dynamic message signs along the roadway and emergency service response times are reduced by knowing more about the location and conditions surrounding an incident requiring emergency service.

Building security may be as simple as a home with 1 or 2 cameras and a few sensors or as complex as a casino with thousands of cameras, sensors and input devices. As IP video and IP connectivity proliferate among equipment suppliers it becomes more necessary to deploy Ethernet network elements to connect security devices to a controller or computer system.
EtherWAN Ethernet connectivity products provide the connectivity needed for the simplest to the most sophisticated networks for security systems. Whether it's IP video or data from sensors and input devices, Etherwan can connect these devices to the network and provide communication paths for your system. Project
One of our customers has recently made the EX96000 series (Managed Industrial Switch) and the TS900 series (Serial Server) an integral part of their automated chemical manufacturing system. The factory floor Robotics, Temperature sensors, SCADA Systems, RTUs and Microcontrollers are connected to each Serial Server's serial port, and their Ethernet port is connected to managed switches, which directly linked with the factory's Ethernet/LAN via managed switches. By placing servers at strategic locations around the factory floor, the PC based Control Center can easily communicate with all of the manufacturing system's components.In order to achieve smooth operation, 24 hours a day - 7 days a week, without interruption, managed switches are used which provide RSTP to recover the link within a short time period in case of failure of any node. It is extremely important that the plant floor is in continuous operation to meet production requirements.
