SIB (System Information Block)

Scheduling blocks 1 and 2 contain the scheduling information for the SIBs which could not be provided in the MIB.

Content

Contains parameters for cell selection and re-selection also contains the cell access restriction information for the current cell. SIB3 is used by the RRC in idle and connected mode.

Contains parameters for cell selection and re-selection to be used in connected mode. Same as SIB3 but used in connected state of the RRC and if not scheduled in a cell, the RRC shall use SIB3 instead.

Contains parameters for the configuration of the common and shared physical channels to be used in connected mode.Contains the fast changing parameters UL interference and Dynamic persistence level.Contains static CPCH information to be used in the cell.Contains CPCH information to be used in the cell.

Contains information to be used by UEs having their DCH controlled by a DRAC procedure.(i.e. able to read SCCPCH and DPCH simultaneously. This SIB is received on FACH - Trch rather than BCH.

MIB - Master Information Block - Provides the scheduling of other system information blocks. It also contains the PLMN identity of the cell.

is a PLMN scope SIB, which means that some parts of SIB1 can be retained even after the cell reselection(if PLMN is the same in the new cell). Contains the GSM-MAP cell NAS system information for each CN as well as UE timers and counters to be used in idle mode and in connected mode.Contains the UTRAN registration ares list that the current cell belongs to (URA identity). This information is used by UE in URA_PCH state to evaluate whether a URA update procedure must be initiated or not.

Contains parameters for the configuration of the common physical channels in the cell such as PRACH, SCCPCH. The parameters are used in the estab. Of channel in idle mode or connected state, expect CELL_DEH.
