• Six courts built along with high school in 1992• Problems have existed for many years with
cracking, buckling, etc. with no permanent solution found• Courts are now an embarrassment to the
school and community• No other playable public courts in Hudson

Vision• Create a Community Tennis Center that will revitalize tennis
in Hudson• Increase physical recreation in Hudson• Create courts suitable for play by younger kids• Enable tennis recreation for people of all ages and physical
abilities/challenges• Create courts with lights• Create center which can be used for phys-ed classes as well
as tournaments (school and USTA)

Phases
• Phase I:– Rebuild the six existing courts and re-design water
drainage between baseball field and tennis courts.– Cost: $280,000
• Phase II:– Build four additional courts and pavilion. Add
bleachers and lights to all ten courts.– Cost: $750,000
Timing
• Phase I – summer 2014, assuming funds are raised. The Superintendent will recommend that the School Board contribute $80,000. Additional donors are in the process of committing.
• Phase II – planned for 2015 pending funding from private donors and possible City of Hudson participation.
Donor levels
• $500,000 – Overall naming rights• $100,000 – Pavilion naming• $25,000 – Court naming• $10,000 – Bleachers naming• $5,000 – Plaque• $1,000 – Large brick• $250 – Small brick
Hudson Community Tennis Courts is a project of Hudson City Schools with support from the Hudson City schools Foundation. HCSF is a non-profit organization dedicated to retaining the special character and fabric of Hudson through the collaboration and philanthropy of civic-minded residents.Donations can be made directly to Hudson City Schools with designation: “Tennis Court Project”.
