M AY 2016 HULL HERO HERALD What a wonderful year it has been at Jane Dee Hull Elementary! I know that all the teachers and staff have thoroughly enjoyed working with your children over the past year and we are very excited about their growth and progress. We know it takes every- one working together to support our children. At this me of year we want to thank our fantasc PTO Board, Commiee Leads, Art Masterpiece Coordinators and Jr. Achievement Volunteers. Each and every day we are fortunate to have parents, grandpar- ents, aunts and uncles come to volunteer at our school. That is why we are happy to celebrate “Naonal Volunteer Appreciaon Week”. We salute our volunteers and their incredible contribuons to our school and community. On May 17th we will be recog- nizing the many volunteers that give their me to Hull Elementary by hosng an appreciaon celebraon in our Media Center at 3:15. As we look towards a new school year, we are excited to connue our preschool programs at Hull. A Community Preschool for children who turn 4 by December 31 st and a Kindercademy Preschool for children who turn 5 between September 1 st and Decem- ber 31 st . These programs are tuion based and a part of Chandler Community Educaon. For more informaon please visit cusdcommunity.com or call 480-224-3900. Hull will also host a Priority Preschool for children with special educaonal needs due to a disability for children age 3 and 4. A comprehensive evaluaon is required. Please call 480-883-5979 to arrange an appoint- ment. The preschool programs are half day and will begin at 8:00 and 12:00. We have an exceponal staff for these programs and look forward to serving our community’s needs! This is the last issue of the Hull Hero Herald for the school year, so mark your calendars now! All parents with registered students in 1 st -6 th grades will receive an email in mid-July leng students know who their child’s teacher will be for the 2016-17 school year. This is a change from past procedures. Due to this change, it is important that we have your correct email on file. Please let the front office know if your email has changed. Thank you for your support of our outstanding A+ School! Have a safe and enjoyable summer! I’ll see everyone on Monday, July 25 st to begin another fantasc school year. Kindergarten Celebration

Bring your tissues! The Kindergarteners will be having their graduation perfor-mance on Tuesday, May 24h at 9:30 a.m. in the Multipurpose Room. You don’t

want to miss this wonderful event!

Congratulations to the students who were chosen to repre-sent Hull in the All-State Orchestra in April. Those students are: Ahlam Bouhafsi, Khaymin Westbrook (both on viola), and Caden Boyd on bass.

Please check our LOST & FOUND for any lost/missing items.

Any items left after the May 24th will be donated to charity.

First Grade Bugz Play

Our first graders gave an outstanding performance of the Bugz play in April. A huge shout out to Mrs. Bond, Ms. Burski, Mrs. Breedlove, Mrs. Jenkins, Ms. Eskey, Ms. Duffy, and Mrs. Virgo for all of their preparation and long hours for the play.

Pinkalicious

Starring Makenna Jacobs

Hull Elementary’s very own 5th grade student Makenna Jacobs starred in Pinkalicious at Valley Youth Theather. Some of her other credits include Lucy in the Chronicles of Narnia, a Lost Boy in Peter Pan, and a Wood-land Friend in Winnie the Pooh Christmas Tail.

Kindergarten held their annual Fairytale Night performance and it was a huge success! There were lots of princesses, kings, knights, prince charmings, dragons, wolves and many more characters. These kindergarteners gave an amazing performance. Thank you Teachers!

END OF THE YEAR HULL PARENT REMINDERS...

May 24, 2016: Last Day of School

All prescription medications and OTC meds: All inhalers and medicines must be picked up (by an adult) by

4:00pm on Tuesday, May 24th. STUDENTS MAY NOT CARRY ANY INHALERS OR MEDICINES HOME. Any

inhalers or medicines not picked up will be disposed of. The Health Office will reopen on July 21, 2016. At

that time, parents can bring in medicines for the 2016-2017 school year, along with Doctor/Parent permission

forms.

Lost and Found: Please be sure to check for any lost items before the end of school. All items remaining on

the last day of school will be donated to a local charity.

Withdrawal: If your child will NOT be returning to Hull next year, please notify the office as soon as possi-

ble. A withdrawal form needs to be completed and returned to the office so that records can be sent to your

new school and placement can be completed for the new year.

Address Change: In order to receive Back-to-School information this summer for the 2016-2017 school

year, the Hull office must have your current address, telephone numbers, and email address(es).

Class Placement Information: Class placement emails will go out in mid July.

Specials Teachers (P.E., Music, Media Specialist, and Resource) will be located in the hallways to assist par-

ents with directions.

6:15-6:45pm- (Community Preschool, 2nd and 3rd)

Students enjoyed the chance to show off their dance moves at our AzMerit Dance Party. This was a great celebration after a long week of testing!
