THE PROBLEM

User must use Top-Down Processing to realize that the compartment opens up, revealing the USB Port.

The Problem Cont. The USB Port is:• Hidden• Difficult to use• Poorly Designed

The System Unit Compartment needs to be opened in order to plug-in USB without the user searching for the USB Ports located on the back System Unit.

The Work Space is: • Too small to operate • Often creates clutter

Possible Solutions

1. Change the direction of the USB Port/ Compartment door

2. Move USB Port to another location on the System Unit

3. Expand the Desk (Work Space), allowing the user to work

efficiently

4. A symbol or sign needs to be placed on the compartment to

show the location of the USB (make displays legible or audible)

5. Buy new computers

6. Provide USB Port Hubs
