GEN´ An intelligent television with agent will work for you, tuning in

desired programs or picking out the pieces of information youneed from the tremendous quantity and variety of informationavailable through ISDB channels or two-way networks .

Desirable Display Conditions for Captioning

It is a method for presenting captions for TV dramas at a speed and in aform most legible for viewers . Subjective evaluation and viewer eye

movement test results under various display conditions for captioning willbe shown . Meanwhile, a new method is being studied which would allowthe viewer to change the speed and size of captions .

´ A new teletext service is being studied which will offer information in Braille so that senior citizens with poor vision and people with compound visual and acousticdifficulties may be able to readily access teletext andtext-based multimedia information services .

Speech Rate Converter for PracticalUseSenior citizens often have difficulty understanding people when they

speak quickly . To address this, we are developing a speech rateconversion system which will slow speech down to a more easilyunderstandable rate, without otherwise changing the personal vocalcharacteristics of the speaker . The system on display is smaller andmore lightweight than the prototype and is equipped with an algorithmfeature, improving quality and making it easier to use
