or they wish to improve the life of their children• The inter-country adoption system makes the adoption scandals

predictable.• Adoption between the West and the developing world can sometimes

result in trafficking of babies or pregnant women• Thousands of children from Asia, Africa, and South America are sold

into the global sex trade every year. • 30 percent of the total number of trafficking cases for year 2007-2008

between America and Asia or Africa were children coerced into the sex industry.

• 70 % of these people are women and girls, and up to 50 % are minors.
