Objective: To Educate, counsel & mobilise every individual within a defined geographic area to take control of HIV/AIDS in her/his life.

• Nutrition integrated as part of the model to boost immune system of people living with AIDS

• 3-year campaign - systematically engages all stakeholders in geographical bound area (1 area = 100,000 people covered by 50 field officers)

• Has reached 11 million people worldwide by end of 2010

Independent evaluation conducted of the FC program in Malawi concluded:

• Average crop production increased by 250%

• Average annual cash income increased by 120%.

• Access to water increased by 280%

Objective: Improve quality of education by training of multi-skilledteachers who act as role models and agents of change in rural areas;

• Combine theory with practice and engage in community development

• Cost share from National Governments and employment upon graduation

• All colleges are fully registered and accredited by national governments andintegrated into national education sector plans

• 14,000 teachers graduated; certificate from Ministries of Education

• 80-85% of teachers currently working in rural areas
