Master A is the nitrogen, potassium, calcium and micro-nutrient containing portion of the Premium 2-Part amino chelated lineup. Master A can be used in higher ratios than Master B, its counterpart, in order to achieve lush vegetative growth. Many 2-part nutrients lack some of the essential nutrients necessary to plant growth. This is especially vital when there is no base nutrient medium, such as in a hydroponic situation.

Master B is the phosphorus, potassium, and magnesium containing portion of the 2-part amino chelated lineup. Many growers use the Master B in higher ratios to supplement the bloom stage of their favorite plants. The ratios of Master B were specifically designed to allow maximum uptake of essential elements phosphorus, potassium, and magnesium.

3-part fertilizers are a versatile system that growers have been utilizing for many years. The Grow 2-1-6 portion contains nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and magnesium in specific ratios to support vegetative growth in plants. Many growers change the ratios of the 3-part system to add more of the Grow 2-1-6 in the early stages of a plant’s life for vigorous growth.

The 3-part Micro contains nitrogen, calcium, iron, manganese, cobalt, and molybdenum in ratios that are ideal for plant uptake. Micro-nutrients “trace elements” are catalyst to plants, which help produce chlorophyll. Micro contains 5% calcium which can be used as a calcium/micro-nutrient supplement or in foliar sprays in any type of garden. When mixing 3-part, add Micro first and mix thoroughly. *nutrients can lock out when not mixed properly and can damage plants or garden.

3-part Bloom will complete our 3-part program with astonishing results and yields. Bloom contains calcium, nitrate, cobalt nitrate, potassium nitrate, calcium carbonate, potassium carbonate, iron, manganese, and sodium molybdenum to make for a premium conventional bloom. Many growers change the ratios of the 3-part system to add more of the Bloom 0-6-5 in the flowering stages for vigorous blooming.

Mayan MicroZyme in a bacterial-enzymatic concentrate full of microorganisms that can increase fertility while providing vital nutrients to all types of plants and crops. The micro-organisms present in Mayan MicroZyme (MMZ) mineralize nutrients, produce and regulate nitrogen, build organic matter in your soil, and can improve fertility and fruit yields by increasing nutrient uptake and availability. The micro-organisms in Mayan MicroZyme are dormant with a long shelf life because of the micro-encapsulating process. When the concentrate is diluted in water and aerated, the micro-encapsulation dissolves and the micro-organism populations become active and increase in number.

ProZyme enzymatic treatment is for growing mediums and a key to successful farming. Enzymes are biological catalysts, derived from living organisms, and increase the speed of naturally occurring chemical reactions. ProZyme is a concentrate made up of over 80 different beneficial enzymes. ProZyme will help soils become fertile and more usable by breaking down dead root mass, starches, and nutrients to make them readily available and useful to the plant. ProZyme stimulates the “pre-digestion” of these complex molecules, allowing the plant to absorb and immediately use the nutrients. Since each enzyme has a specific role to play in catalyzing reactions, the diversity of enzymatic species in ProZyme can help your plant complete every task required to perform efficiently and rapidly. When using ProZyme as a catalyst for chemical reactions, the rate of reaction can be over 15 million times faster than if left un-catalyzed. Without proper enzymatic activity, absorption of nutrients is sluggish and incomplete.

Humboldt Roots is a concentrated natural root stimulant that expands root zones. Plant metabolism rate is determined by not only environment, but root zone. Large yields are associated with plant metabolism rates which are directly related to the uptake of nutrients and fertilizers. Many gardeners neglect this fact and concentrate on the visual aspects of a plant. During flowering, a hearty root zone can help support heavily fruiting plants. Humboldt Roots contains Ascophyllum nodosom, humic and amino acids as well as mycorhizzae spores. Seaweed is a known natural rooting hormone which provides nutrition to help with new root promotion.

Mycorrhizal inoculants are crucial to sustaining a healthy, expansive root zone, White Widow is just that. With years of extensive research and development, Humboldt Nutrients has found this pure endomycorhizzae to super charge your root zone. The effectiveness of a soluble mycorrhizal inoculant relies heavily on two variables: the amount of spores in the product itself and the ability of the product to become soluble in water. White Widow is a super-fine powder that quickly and easily dissolves into water, which is great for hydroponic systems and any growing medium.

Myco Madness is a biologically active soluble powder that contains beneficial bacteria, mycorrhizal fungi, and trichoderma. These micro-organisms colonize roots and extend root zones into surrounding media, increasing the surface area of the root system. 9 mycorrhizal species, 15 beneficial bacteria and 2 trichoderma species is the composition of Myco Madness.. Myco Madness contains mycorrhizal fungi that colonize plant roots and extend the root system into the surrounding media, greatly enhancing the absorptive surface area of root systems. Mycorhizzhae is also a crucial species for breaking down iron and phosphorus.

Myco Maximum is a granular powder containing growth-enhancing mycorrhizal fungi, proprietary ingredients, beneficial bacteria, and trichoderma. Unlike Myco Maximum’s cousin, Myco Madness, it is not water soluble and should only be used in soil or soilless medium. Myco Maximum adds organic matter and helps to break down nutrients and micro-nutrients present in your growing medium which are necessary for plants throughout their life cycles. Our blend expands into the surrounding medium to greatly increase the roots’ ability to absorb and recycle water and nutrients, improving transplant success, flowering and overall growth of the plant. Plus Myco Maximum has time-released sugars for the bacteria and fungi to feed off once active.

Sea Cal has 3% Ca to ensure proper levels of calcium when needed. Sea Cal contains calcium gluconate which can help remediate salt buildup in your medium. Salt buildup can lock out other important elements such as micro-nutrients. Calcium is a crucial part of cell wall development, which leads to strong, healthy stuctures. Plants can benefit from calcium to help resist against disease and harsh environmental stress. Sea Cal can also help activate PGR (plant growth regulator) enzymes, so use of PGR additives may not be required. Depending on your planting media and variety, Sea Cal may be your calcium remedy.

Sea Mag contains 1.5% water soluble magnesium, which is more magnesium than most standalone magnesium additives in the market today. Magnesium plays a crucial role in plant health including longer shelf life and quality finished product. Plants under high light intensity or that suffer from constant watering, may require more magnesium. Magnesium is required for proper chlorophyll production to raise a healthy plant. Instant magnesium can be achieved from a foliar spray, Sea Mag as a foliar spray can help unlock your deficiency.

Equilibrium is our one part Ca-Mg additive for soil or soiless applications, that can be used in all stages of growth. Plants require calcium and magnesium to achieve proper maintenance of structure and chlorophyll. Equilibrium was designed for slow time-released delivery of Ca-Mg and aid in pH buffering. We strongly recommend not using Equilibrium in hydroponic systems because a clogged lines or emmiters can occur.

Humboldt Honey Hydro is an excellent sweetener for all gardens and plant varieties. Sugar is essential to the plant during flowering which can help promote thicker fruit and robust flowers. Humboldt Honey Hydro is thinner in viscosity, unlike Honey Es, which makes for a perfect hydroponic or soilless-media sugar additive. Humboldt Honey Hydro can increase your plant’s Brix levels (a measure of the sugar content of any given fruit or flower) to aid in penetrating flavors.

Humboldt Honey ES is a premium blend of cane molasses, yucca, kelp and ocean fish. Honey ES increases Brix levels by providing sugars to your plants during flowering and is a vital food source to benefical bacteria and fungi, which help break down nutrients rapidly in soil. When a plant begins flowering it diverts sugars from the root zone to the flowers. As the plant naturally channels sugars to new flowers, buds, and fruits, the microbial life in the soil suffers and starves. Providing Honey ES to your medium late in flower can help recharge your microbial life and break down lingering phosphates that remain.

Humboldt Nutrients Royal Flush is a premium flushing solution which helps drop unwanted salt buildup. Royal Flush supercharges the flushing process by binding together undesirable salts and heavy minerals. Royal Flush then strips these larger particles out of your plant, leaving behind sugars and strong flavors. Try Humboldt Nutrients Royal Flush today and experience the difference between a flush and a Royal Flush with a clean, sweet finish.

Basic Feeding Charts

Important FeedingInformation

All Programs:FOR BEST RESULTS: Always use un-chlorinated water, maintain pH levels between 5.5-7.0 and check reservoir after adding all nutrients. Due to our use of multiple chelating agents in our formulas, the elements within our products can be absorbed by plants in a wider range of pH levels.

Oxygenate water before and during application. To prevent nutrient settling, always use a pump at the bottom of the reservoir to continually agitate and mix the nutrient water during application. Research and Development conducted using water obtained by reverse osmosis containing near 0 PPM.

PPM is a measurement which is affected by a number of factors including the soil or medium, the environment, water cleanliness and quality, age of water filters and nutrients introduced into the environment. For that reason you cannot be too dependent on PPM to judge garden health. For most plants, in most gardens, our feeding charts during Grow Week One-Four will range from about 400-500 PPM Week One, to about 600-800 PPM during Week Four. During the Bloom weeks our programs will range from about 700-900 PPM in Week One to a range of about 1300-1600 during Week Six, with a drop to about 1200-1300 PPM in Week Seven. If PPM is too high at any stage of growth, add R.O. water to decrease the PPM to desired level.

Natural 2-Part ProgramFOR BEST RESULTS: Humboldt Nutrients organic feeding schedules work best in soil applications. For optimum biological activity which fixates and increases availability of nutrients, combine nutrients and additives with water and allow to “brew” for at least 24 hours prior to use.

Conventional 3-Part ProgramFOR BEST RESULTS: Humboldt Nutrients complete hydroponic feeding schedules work great with re-circulating, drain to waste, and all other growing methods. If using an ebb & flow system, every 5-7 days drain your reservoir then clean your pump and equipment.

Oneness ProgramFOR BEST RESULTS: The Oneness Program works excellent in all growing applications: ebb & flow (re-circulating), drain to waste, soil, soil-less, aeroponic, deep water culture and fogponic systems, using any growing media or garden setup. If using an ebb & flow system, drain your reservoir every 5-7 days then clean your equipment, pumps, and remove any filmy buildup on the reservoir itself.

Additional Important Information

Listen to Your Plants.

All Feeding Charts and application recommendations are not definitive instructions. All crops and genetic strains within plant species have different metabolism rates. Some strains are genetically predisposed to be heavy feeders and others are light feeders. There are also environmental conditions that provide for higher metabolism rates (CO2). This makes it difficult for us to provide set in stone instructions. We recommend that all gardeners research their favorite strain and learn what it likes. More importantly, pay attention to what your plants are telling you.

Reverse Osmosis Water?

All Research and Development using Humboldt Nutrients products is conducted by obtaining water through Reverse Osmosis. This ensures that all the elements are provided by the gardener and not from the tap water. Reverse Osmosis filters all the elements out of the tap water and provides a zero Parts-Per-Million (PPM). If you do not use Reverse Osmosis, please lower the suggested application rate.

Consider Your Substrates.

Humboldt Nutrients recommends that when fertilizing, you consider the amount of nutrition in the substrates that you are growing in. For example, if you are using a heavily amended soil, always take the availability of those amendments into consideration when fertilizing. Microorganisms are constantly breaking down those amendments and providing nutrition to your plants. There is no predictability of what elements are available in this situation, so we would recommend only fertilizing once a week in this situation. In an inert hydroponic or soilless media, the gardener must fertilize more frequently to compensate for the lack of nutrition in the substrate.

Foliar Spraying?

Foliar spraying is one the best ways to ensure that your plants are receiving the proper nutrition. This practice is underutilized in our market and we feel that it is a form of insurance. If your plants are not receiving the proper nutrition uptake from the root zone, foliar sprays applied directly to the plant tissue are more quickly absorbed. Organic vs. Hydroponic.

Organic gardening cannot be considered Hydroponic, nor vice versa. We base our Organic and Natural products on interpretations given by Organic Certifiers on what inputs are allowed in an organic garden. If a crop is to be considered truly “Organic,” all of the crucial elements contained in the fertilizers, organic amendments, or supplements must be made available through the decomposition by microorganisms. Hydroponic fertilizers must be instantly available in order to compensate for the lack of nutrition in the substrate. The instant availability of the crucial elements is achieved through a chelate.

Bio-degradable Hydroponic Nutrients.

Humboldt Nutrients manufactures hydroponic fertilizers that can be considered bio-degradable, but not Organic. The instant availability of the elements does not provide for an “Organic” claim. We use complex organic and amino acid chelates in our hydroponic fertilizers. These proprietary plant based chelates provide a much lower salt-index than a majority of fertilizers containing synthetic chelates. As a result, naturally existing or inoculated biological life can thrive and continue working for the plant in higher concentrations of fertilizer. In essence, Humboldt Nutrients hydroponic fertilizers feed the plants and microorganisms readily available nutrients. The grower gets the best of both worlds using Humboldt Nutrients.

Basic Growing Tips

Light.Humans can visually see only a short range of color in the light spectrum, while plants absorb almost all colors in the sun’s spectrum through photosynthesis. The sun provides a range of colors in its spectrum throughout the year. Artificial lights have a difficult time mimicking the magnificent spectrum of the sun. Metal Halide bulbs are bluish in an attempt to mimic the sun’s spectrum during the spring months. These are commonly used during the vegetative stage. High Pressure Sodium lights illuminate more of the orange-reddish spectrum, akin to the summer sun. These bulbs are commonly used during the blooming stage.

Light Cycles. In vegetative or growth stages plants ideally want to receive 18 hours of light and 6 hours of darkness. In blooming or flowering stages plants must receive 12 hours of darkness and 12 hours of light.

Water.Water should be free of chlorine & have near 0 PPM. Tap water often contains chlorine to kill harmful biologicals. Unfortunately this indiscriminately kills beneficial bacteria. Test the PPM of your tap water; if H2O is above 300 PPM we recommend using reverse osmosis, if below 300 PPM, a filter will remove chlorine.

PH & PPM.The acid or alkaline level of a solution is pH. Pure water contains a neutral pH of 7.0. Water pH can be tested and adjusted; this should be a major concern for hydroponic gardeners. A good pH for your plants can range from 5.5 to 7.0. Parts-per-million (PPM) is a measure of how many particles of salts, metals or other elements are present in a body of water. Adding nutrients and additives to a water reservoir increases the PPM.

Soils & Media.Coco, Rockwool, Hydroton & Sure-To-Grow are all inert media. This means that they contain no usable matter or nutrients for your plants. The only role these media play is in providing a strong sub-structure in which roots can thrive and expand. All the needs of the plant must be met with nutrient solutions in inert gardens. Soil, however, is biologically active & alive. Micro-organisms live in your soil, continually breaking down organic material into smaller particles which can be absorbed as food by plants. High porosity soil-less mixes are made using coco & peat as a base. These mixes of vermiculite, perlite, coco & peat share qualities of inert media, such as air flow and structure, with the addition of colonizing beneficial micro-organisms.

Biologically Active or Inert? In an organic garden, micro-organisms help break down organic matter, fertilizers & supplements, resulting in readily available and usable plant food. Hydroponic gardeners using inert media are less reliant on biological activity and more dependant on soluble fertilizers in the reservoir. Some hydroponic gardeners prefer to keep a sterile environment while others choose to incorporate biological innoculants. Media like Coco is fibrous and can colonize beneficial bacteria and fungi. Inert media like Hydroton balls cannot support this biological activity. High-porosity soilless media offer aspects of both inert and biologically active media, and can be used either way.

Foliar Sprays.Foliar sprays are used to directly feed open leaf stomata (pores) & are vital to maintaining a healthy, happy garden. Too many gardeners ignore this important, yield increasing practice. Foliar sprays are effective in the morning, and most effective at the end of the day, when the garden is approaching the dark cycle. A consistent foliar spray regimen reduces pathogens and parasites like mites, leaf miners, and powder mold.
