Waterfowl Hunting

Duck hunting is when a sportsman goes after a duck, goose or swan.

Hunters use a duck or goose call and decoys to attract the birds. They wear very detailed camouflage and

hide behind trees, grass, or in blinds.

Small Mammals

Small mammal hunting is hunting badgers, beavers, squirrel, fox, nutria, mink,

opossums, muskrats, otters, rabbits, skunk, prairie dogs and raccoons. You can use

dogs to help track the animals. The fur can be sold

for money. Coyotes and bobcats can be classified into

large and small mammals.

Upland Birds

Upland birds include bobwhite quails, scaled quail, Gambel’s

quail, Montezuma quail, mourning dove, white-winged

dove, pigeons, American woodcock, ring-necked

pheasant, ruffed grouse, turkey, chukars, prairie

chickens and American crow. Bird dogs can be used to retrieve and

locate birds.

Salt Water Fishing

Salt water fishing only happens in oceans. The fish come in more sizes, colors, and depths. Many

fishermen go after these fish for trophies

Freshwater Fishing

Freshwater fishing is when an angler fishes in a lake, pond, river, stream, or

creek. These fish tend to be small while some are very large.

Trapping

Trapping is when there is a trap set in an animals habitat. It is an easy way to earn money from the hides of animals you catch.

Large Mammals

Large mammals are the largest mammals that can be hunted. It

is a very popular activity that many people take part in. The animals include white tailed-

deer, mule deer, elk, pronghorn, bighorn

sheep, moose, mountain lion, bobcat, coyote, javelin, bla

ck bear and brown bear
